I know i should probably just put this with someone elses post but I'm not.

So I went to togwotee and there was a 119 miles on my sled when my belt went, we were way up on a steep mountain side I ended up having to ride the back bumper down the mountain due to the lack of brakes because of the teeth being damn near completely stripped off the belt then the work started my brother had to pull me 40 miles back with his new 13 skidoo xm not a real good second day outwest for me

I just wish polaris would come up with a fix for this piece of **** drive system

Something you might concider is $40.00 worth of special tools and a spare belt. Could leave at trailer and it that situation send someone for it. But your correct we all hope there is a better set up coming.

Same as above. I know it sucks, but i just purchased the aluminum install tools and forked out $175 to carry a spare belt. If it blows at low miles a good dealer should warranty it, but that is no reason to ruin a good day that spending a little money cant fix in a matter of minutes.

Ya i know i should but i ordered the tools from my dealer and they are back ordered till feb and yes i know you can get aftermarket tools but the trip is over now

i had a spare belt but then your suppose to break that belt in for a 100 miles so that takes a while

that one is stripped badly, worst one i have seen. scary to think that a guy has no brakes in this scenario. you can't help but think this is a legal liability for polaris

With all due respect Mr. Polaris...Cat had an issue with some sleds blowing belts last year...now YOU seem to have the same problem this year, albeit the QuickDrive belt!

What are YOU going to do about it...cause I remember my friends on Cats got an extra year of warranty and belts warrantied until a stronger belt could be manufactured...

Would be nice to hear from the manufacturer of our $12k toy on this one...

My gripe isn't even that i have to buy an extra quick drive belt which i had anyway its more that i don't trust the sled when I am way back in the brush cause when the belt breaks out there its a terrible experience getting the sled back. So basically my question is to you guys is what do you think I should do about the belt drive system I am really considering trading for an assault but that sucks cause i will take such a hit on trading this early any ideas????

C3 powers ports is making a plate (think chain case) that uses their belt and gears so you can choose your own gear ratio.

I would just get spare belts and the tools and wait for polaris to come up with a fix. Also breaking in your belt then use it as a spare and put a new one on and break that in.

When the belts blow on our 2012+ cat sleds we still have the ability to brake. I can't imagine losing brakes especially on a technical section.

what problem are you talking about? there are no problems with this belt drive system, there have been no failures, all these guys that have had their powder days wrecked by polaris sh*t quality are making it all up.....

Paulharris, yes it is funny how Polaris fails to informed its customers and some guys who have new 13 Pro RMK's who are not on a forum and have not been contacted by the dealer are still not aware of the quick drive belt issues and even the driveshaft failures or available collars.

To have a trip wasted by a new sled is just not acceptable and I feel for the guy who has spent his hard earned coin on a sled that needs to be pulled out when the machine is brand spankin new! This use to just be a concern for well used high mile put away wet sleds.

I do believe thinks happen but a 1 gallon of free oil does not help and yet the consumer keeps supporting Polaris by buying these sleds year after year. Honestly Polaris has got away with major defects for a long time which is sad.

Whatever dude!
I have 450miles on my 2013 pro without an issue (so far touch wood)
The Arctic cats are having all the issues in my group.
A few weeks ago my bud's 2011 m8 quit way the Fu(k out there. They thought it was the engine, not sure exactly what happened to that one, But it wasn't an easy tow!
A couple weeks ago we're unloading and my buds 2012 proclimb's secondary bolt was laying bent and stripped in the belly pan...Bl;ue bird day missed!
Next day we went out, same sled just got into the nice stuff and he took out his reeds.
Other buddy on a 2012 proclimb wouldn't start at the truck, done for the day!
Yesterday, bud on a 2013 proclimb had his secondary bolt come half out and bent it, barely made it too the truck.

R44....The Pro's don't have ALL the issue's!

Ken C.

Just wait yours will break to and it will be when you really don't want it to happen trust me on this.
Its only a matter of time theres two other guys that have pros that I ride with and they have both busted multiple belts
Its a horse **** setup you shouldn't have to baby your sled after a 100 miles its just not right

Ken, I know every sled manufacturer has some issues and on some years some more then others. I hope you have continued good luck with your 13 Pro RMK and 450 miles are not much to brag about being trouble free to date.

I meet one guy at my Polaris dealer who did not make it out of his driveway on the first ride and had a broken driveshaft at less then 50 feet. After the shaft was replaced the new shaft started to fail again with only 56 miles on it and the shaft was reglued at the dealer which then came apart again with only 27 miles on the repaired shaft.

Now the dealer installs another warranty driveshaft and so far so good but the quick drive belt failed at 143 miles and then the second quick drive belt looses 5 cogs under mid throttle after 40 miles in 6-8 inch's of fresh powder. He is now on his third quick drive belt with under 250 miles on the sled.

over 500 miles on first belt, then she went, less than 30 miles on second belt then she went, third belt in sled with under 30 miles, broken in as per polaris recommendations. only 70 more miles till i can actually ride again. there has to b someone who can make a stronger belt??? my second belt didn't even strip a cog it just tore in half wtf? still waiting to here if their covered by warranty. thank GOD a guy a i ride with is prepared had everything i needed with him BOTH times, guess its my time to start carrying the weight. so does this mean with the rachet, the belt, and the two spline nuts the sleds new dry weight is 417lbs?
