dream away

I would like to see one running in the first place. 2nd I would like it to be reliable like the M8 setups on Pump or 50/50, pull and go. With minimum lag to almost none. 3rd would be outstanding technical support after purchase... i think anyone who boost's realizes there are going to be some hiccups when we pull up on the hill, we just want someone who will pick up there phone and help us dial it in fast. I would like the price for a pump set up to be in the $4,500 - 5,000. For me it doesn't need crazy boost, just a reliable 6 - 12lbs. Currently I am not interested in the 800 Etec because I fell it is going to be a pain to pull any extra power out of. Please prove me wrong.

The industry has had this concept that the 800r can not be reliably boosted unless it has the new etec setup. I can promise you that the first couple companies to create a pull and go etec set up are going to sell A LOT kits.... ( and that is assuming the kit builder doesn't steal you money and run)

Cheers
Shawn

I would like to see them not sold until they are perfected....or with a big disclosure that says you WILL have to do alot of tuning and tinkering and miss alot of riding if you don't have another sled to ride. I suppose this should apply to any turbo setup. JMO-

I want electric start. I want 7-15 #'s adjustable. I want the skis to stay down. I want the fuel to be a stand alone ECU. I want the sled to loose weight when the Turbo is installed. I want the fuel mileage to go up. I want instant throttle response. I want Obama to go sledding with me. I want the snow gods to have fresh snow for me everyday. I want the sled ready to rip when it's done, NO R&D from the customers! I want the wilderness areas open to Turbo's only! I want the sled to be able to breath in the DEEP snow! I want a hot dogger installed for free. I want the economy to come back so I can get a new sled.

Or whatever you guys come out with will be fine with me..
You know what you need to do!!
Bryce have you got a chance to look at the new E-Tec? Do you get one to play with?

From what I've read/understand, any new kit should come with PC V with Autotune and a good map. Would be awful nice to have a pull and go setup like that where you don't have worry about it.

I know physics only allow so much..but the only knock I can find against the Cat's are the fact Reeds need fairly consistent replacement. Would be nice to have amore durable option.

Stand alone fuel system (Can the e-tec support enough fuel?) and the ability to be as hassle free as the Cat's. achieve that and the kits will sell them selves IMO. Thank's T-Boy's !!!:t:peace:ea:

?

The ability to go back to stock form without too much hassle.

There are ups and downs to this I know........

I think the big target market for the turbos now isnt the big boost crazy folks.. they usually know more about the turbo world and dont need kits or as much R&D on a product.. or so I say.

Im thinking a kit that runs 6-12# with a good fuel controller system that is more indepth then the current piggy back boxes you will see these kits flying off the shelves. As someone who has bridged into the turbo world and is trying to drag some in with me, I see a huge market for the lower boost setups for pump or slight mix fuel. makes dang good power at elevation. it just allows for a crazy new riding style with terrain you never thought about before.

There are only 2 things I would want

I would like to see it go faster than my 860
I want it to be faster than my buddies

if this mean I need a 5 gal Jerry cause it use this much gas... I don't really care

lol seriously who wants fuel milage with a turbo, if that's the case go buy a 600.Bottom line is it just works and goes fast lol

Pump fuel with the option of race or blend to a reasonable HP level.... No, 300 isnt' reasonable.

-180-200hp at elevation on pump fuel
-Stand alone fuel controller (since e-tec already has a closed loop in place)otherwise something very very very simple. Cant stress simple enough.

-automatic compensation for altitude (should't be hard, all you need is a good BARO sensor)

-Ability to remove the kit in its entirety.
-Turn Key
Not neccesary, but -Use a Air/Water intercooling system. It makes too much sense not to. Major boost in hp using this. This alone may fix all the reed problems. As well as Deto, and compression issues. Getting charge temps to an acceptable level vs, 200+ deg F, and i'll bet the reeds will live alot longer.

- A fresh air intake that doesn't look dumb, is functional in the powder and is more than just a port on the sled.

-utilize the factory Knock sensor. Use as much OE stuff as you can.

-oil system with a dipstick or visual level indicator.

- A decent muffler.

-Cost less than $5k, otherwise i'll just build my own once the fuel controller becomes avalible. I have no desire to turbo a cat. I want a turbo Fuel injected Xp.

-Something that is trailable on not on the ragged edge of burndown all the dang time. That garbage gets old very fast. set them up conservative. Use 87-91 fuel, back off the igntion timing, and make it a daily driver. Most dont care about being the "fastest". I really dont. I just want consistent reliable power in the mountains at elevation.

I don't really care if an 860 beats it in a 300-600 ft drag race. Turbo's dont choke for air at 9k like N/A sleds do, or if a low pressure system moves in. Not only that, adjusting clutches all the time becomes a thing of the past with consistent, repeatable power.

Do these, and consider me sold. Where do i sign?

You know I really think since you are right there with Edge chips (same area) you should get with them to design electronics that will work with ski doo's ecm. Their stuff works really really well with all the diesel and gas engines I have used them on. And when you get with them tell them you want to have an O2 sensor that controls the fueling system. That way if you want more boost all you have to do is push the up arrow like on a normal edge chip for my cummins.
I don't know about working with oem ecms but the rest really shouldn't be that tough. I wouldn't think anyway.

I agree with most

pump gas

180 to 200 hp

and a no brainer fuel system

and possiblity of more hp# so i can stay ahead of my budies:face-icon-small-hap

I have a 600 e-tech boondocker turbo and i have got to say I have had 800 carbed turbos and I think this sled is faster. The stock electronics are the biggist problem they are way more advanced then any other sled by far and ski-doo dont like to share info been there done that. I believe the 800 e-tech will be supper good but the company with the smartest electronic know how will be the best to buy from for sure.

yes we a working on the e-tec and yes we will have ours on monday to bolt on some trick things.

I am with you all. Thanks!!!!! Very good comments and will listen to them all. We have been working on our list of sellable points and most of your ideas are already on there. But i want to surpass all expectations. So dream away and maybe your dream will be reallity.

here is a some dreaming.

what if you could take and split the gas tank to put one side pump fuel and one side race gas. then that way you just puse a button on the bar and the sled raises the boost and runs straight race fuel.

or what if you type in desired track speed and the sled takes care of everything and tells you the set up you need.

I know that we are along way from these things but it is fun to think about.

thanks again. keep them coming. :face-icon-small-hap

as far as the tank idea.. I have thought about taking my 2.5 jerry can thats on the back and finding a way to make an alum one them plumb it in with a little selecter valve that would allow to switch from race to pump.. flip the switch, wait for it to cylcle throught a little, then be running 110 or whatever for a BIG pull on some big boost.

I feel as thought the electronics is gonna be a huge selling point for these. getting them dialed in with a functional and reasonably easy to tune system they should sell them pretty well..

Ive read that the 800 e-tec has a pressure sensor in the head, which in return when the boost hits the cylinders that causes the ecm to trip a code and motor shuts down. But what says we cant keep trying.:face-icon-small-hap

update:: sled is being broken in right know and gets amazing fuel mileage. Feels super strong. almost time to hang all the good stuff. Keep in touch. The monster is about to be unleasesd. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

QUOTE ;what if you could take and split the gas tank to put one side pump fuel and one side race gas. then that way you just puse a button on the bar and the sled raises the boost and runs straight race fuel.

old street racing trick

splitting the tank is easier than you think, devider in the middle, then epoxy the entire inside to seal the tanks, then epoxy the 2 halfs together.the only thing you will see is the seem on the back.to select which tank all you need is a fuel tank selector switch (toggle on dash) and fuel valve from an 85 chev p/u. or similiar, the selecter valve that the lines attach to is small and light.LOL:face-icon-small-win

raising the boost

easy, electronic servo to turn the booast knob.

NOS has a elec nitrous bottle opener

all on 1 switch

OH YA SINCE YOU HAVE THE TANK APART,notch the right front corner so you can slide the cooler back into the tunnel extention when stretching from 163 to 174 and it will look stock.

spare tank rivited to tunnel and run the fuel line from the backside of the tank under stock tank.run the fuel line down the side of the cooler.dont forget foam.

I would like to see a two stroke that can push 15-17 PSi on pump gas like a standalone impulse kit can do on a four stroke. No need to worry about splitting the tank then. The track speed screen would be awesome. Type in the # and away you go hehe. Maybe some aluminum throttlebody boots so no more delamination and some reeds that hold for 3000 hard miles. Set up a DashDaq. We can check codes while were riding if any arise and use it as a EBC also. Have the track speed screen in there too.
