Dreaded Polaris Gremlins

Stock snowcheck 2012 Pro RMK 163. Mid to low range bog so bad it dropped below clutch engagement a couple of times and felt like it was running on one cylinder when it happened the rest of the time.

Getting worse as time goes on. Started at 400 km's and now have 1500 km's, it was great for a couple of rides after it was at the dealer at 1100 km's but it's back with a vengeance now.

There are five 12's in this area acting up the same way. :face-icon-small-dis

Local dealer is looking at it and taking two of the problem 12's to the mountains with mechanics to do some testing with a laptop.

I suspect it's an electrical problem, too inconsistent to be anything else. Typical ride is 5-7000 feet, pulls at 8150 when climbing.

Any ideas?

Remember Polaristar extended warranty doesn't cover electrical problems, so get this sorted out now.

Add me to the list. I have the exact same situation you just described. Dealer is looking at it tomorrow.

Had same problem sled back and forth to dealer 5 times in last month was ready to put sled on highway with a sign reading "dont buy Polaris" and finally dealer/polaris stopped f-ing with the TPS and changed injectors. Went out yesterday and seems to be working well again:rockon:

My dealer swapped injectors right away and it still hasnt fixed mine. They have swapped almost everything on that sled and are waiting for a new stator to come in. Hopefully that will fix it. I have heard a few people having bad starors causing issues like this.

Hmmmm..... I have considered the stator as a possibility.

Anyone have similar symptoms that were fixed with a swapped out stator?

300 miles and my problem is sounding the same. I missed the last three weekends with this sled. I was thinking water in TPS but dealer seem stumped. They planned on corning Polaris at the release this week and trying to find out what might be going on. Low end bog and it actually stalls a lot. Also bogs around 6000 rpms once it starts going. The problem really began at the low end the higher RPM problem came after a couple of days of low end bog.

Any ideas??

check your stator...you want to look close at all the ohm readings but it sounds like one of the triggers is out of ohms...I have seen one that was bad enough it would run only if you kept working the throttle...wouldnt idle or run under 4000 rpm..turned out the one trigger was out of spec..rest of the stator tested perfect..use a quality meter...by the way..you can test it with out doing anything but unplugging the connectors..also ohm the wires all the weay to the ecu which will verify the wiring harness at the same time...if you look at the recoil housing its got holes all over it for air flow..but I think its getting some moisture into them when riding...

My 12 has been doing the same thing, it started on harder pulls in the mountains(7000+) but progressivly got worse to the point where i could make it happen just by bliping the throttle back home(3000' elev). My dealer asked what fuel i was running(prem no ethenol) and he said to try reg with 10% eth becasue thats the setting it was on so i did and it got way worse, so i put prem no eth back in it and set it on the prem no eth setting and it dissapered for about 2 days and is starting to happen again.

Yup. Looks like everything is pointing to an electrical problem.

Just came back from the dealer. They packed all of the critical electrical connections with dielectric grease, checked fuel pump, power valves, filter socks, ethanol content or water in the fuel (zero) and ran some other tests.

Hope this fixes it. If not, they will replace the entire wiring harness which is currently on back order. I wonder why? :face-icon-small-sad

Riding this weekend and will report back.

Well after all that........ it did it again - twice! :face-icon-small-fro

Once the dealer gets a new wiring harness in, I'll take it in and hopefully that solves the problem once and for all.

Love the sled and it rips otherwise. :face-icon-small-hap

2012 Pro 800 with a significant bog right after engagement, started at 350-400 miles on sled. Dealer says both injectors are bad, hope to have them in first of next week and see if it works.
