Drain holes in Gripper Ski's

Have heard of folks drilling holes in the gripper skis where the water builds. For those that have, have size bit did you use?
Thanks

I drill the in front and back of the spindle mount also to drain water out of those areas and with the right or in this case the wrong snow conditions the holes will shoot stringers out of them

Couldn't you just drill on an angle towards the rear of the ski to prevent any snow issues? Haven't done it yet but seems like a good idea as long as it doesn't weaken the ski at all.

I have drilled 1/8" holes in mine for years, one in each compartment that will hold water. I usually drill straight down or a bit from front to back angle.

I have 10 or 12 1/8" holes in both of my skis. Make sure you drill them towards the back to keep from making snow spaghetti. The holes work great to drain out the pools of water.

Since Polaris has not designed the ski mounting bolt to be greased anymore, I like the idea that water drains away and does not keep the bolt submerged. I also use an 1/8" bit angled slightly to the rear. I have some 4 stud Polaris race skis that a standard skag will bolt up using 3 bolts. The spare bolt hole would shave snow and worm up like white Cheetos. I had to plug that hole up eventually.
