Dragonman..how was that 1st ride?

I learned the hard way about riding alone! other than that the snow was crazy up there, 3' to 4' in spots. Sled was running great then all of a sudden it decided to die on me, I got er started again but all it wanted to do is idle, when I would try to give it gas it would just die. It almost acted like it was vapor locking, It did get warm up there and was running a bit hot so I'm thinking that had something to do with it and I was pushing snow all day over the hood. The cell service up there was in and out and my battery was running low, I did finally get through to Brandon and Ike, decided that since Ike lives in woodlan park it would be a lot easier for him to come help me out. Just want to say THANKS to everyone that was in the process of coming to help me out! Oh by the way when I got back to the sled it decided to run WTF!

The snow sounds like a great start to the season. Did you go up and over the pass? Just wondering how the snow coverage was on the other side. Bummer about your sled but at least you got to ride!

I ended up going to rampart range road outside of woodland park. Didn't want to drive 2 hours for some road riding.

Glad you made it out OK with a good tale to tell and lessons learned. As soon as you called I could tell a little in your voice something was off. Then when you said it was 8-10 miles deep I knew someone was going to have to come get ya.

It was going to be the perfect excuse to get out early..lol

Glad Ike was able to get to ya relatively fast.

GOT SPOT???? ;)

I do have Spot and as my phone was running low, I was sending O.K. messages to my wife.

My M has done that a time or two. One cause is a melted throttle cable liner. gums up and kicks off the throttle safety switch. Will idle fine but dies because cable won't return. once it cools off and sets up it will work free and run ok til next time. eventually it gums up good and won't free up. that was with the twin pipes though and running near the cable. I've heard of stocker's doing it but rare with the heat shield. heat tape and re-routing lower fixed it. I've also had mine just quit running when in over the hood snow for no reason I could figure out, then start 20 minutes later and run fine. some computer/sensor switch I assume. Glad ya got out OK!
