dumb question on my side...can't you just unhook it and just keep it where it is? i know you could do that on a rev...

either way you will want to tighten your spring on your front shocks...

Why not have it both ways?

My buddy Todd of Tedd Unlimited makes an awesome sway bar disconnect kit that looks like a stock item. Takes seconds to disconnect when off trail, and reconnect when back on. Not sure of his name on Snowest, but he is on Sledspace, or search for Tedd Unlimited on FB.

Posts #2 and #3 ideas will not work on an 08 RMK. The swaybar fits into a bracket on the a-arms, not a bolt on style like the newer RMK's.

I would leave it on. I see no real advantage to taking them off on those chassis. I had an 08 with it on and my friend had one and took his off(cut it) and had his front shock pressure rate up. Mine stock hands down handled better all around imo

Two iqs w/o the sway bar and wouldnt have it any other way. Trail ridding sucks, but I dont do much of it. Yes you do have to cut it off, only way.:tea:

Hey guys,
If you take it off, what do you have to do with the stock walker evans shocks. can you run them as is?

It will smash the heck out of the stock WE airs on every corner....like marshmallows on an open fire.

With the stock WE's I hated not having a sway bar. Really dive-ee. Off camber starts were more difficult. This is in our heavy PNW snow though, it really sucks/pulls you around. In a lighter climate??? Maybe not so much?? However I put the Exits on front and it was a totally different machine w/o the sway bar, great combination.

leave it on. the left side of mine broke off so i took it out and its super easy to tip over, great in the trees, but less than great on the trail. not enough of a difference after removing to take it out in my opinion. its pretty tippy stock.

well yah i mean i do alright side hilling i just maybe need to find my center of balance but it seems like the sway bars tension springs u back over maybe im to picky haha i weigh 172 pounds.

The stock WE are a lil on the weak side when the sway bar is out, but being so "marshmallowy" is nice in the trees. And as far as starting off camber just try and set yourself up to where you dont have to stop off camber. Park or stop how you wanna take off. I make due with the stock WE...got the green backs to upgrade I would!:tea:

Yes it is possible to remove the swaybar on the 05-08 (and newer base model IQs) without cutting it. When I took the swaybar off my 900 I just had to loosen one bolt on the lower A-Arm on one side so that I could rock the A-arm a little forward and out of the way enough to slide the bar out... I think it took about 15 minutes to get it off in one piece and I LOVED how easy it was to roll my sled around.

I have since purchased an 09 700 (base model with the same sway bar setup) and actually really like how the sled handles with the bar in with stock suspension, but I am a pretty big guy and have plenty of 'ballast' to throw the sled wherever I want it to go, lol;)

Good luck:beer;
