Dragon newbie with questions

Hey guys. Recently got my self a 07 D800 155 ( with 2010 engine supposedly) is there any way to tell on the year of the engine? And I'm wondering about the clutching. The primary has 10-62 weights and a black 140/330 spring. The team secondary had a black/purple spring with 56-42-36-er helix. Is that ok set up for stock sled? It was turbod with the old engine. Not sure if the clutching was changed with new engine. It will only pull 7600 on a good climb. Thanks for any input

That should be a 08, 09, or a 10, as Polaris had 600s or 700s in this chassis in 07. The elevation that you are riding at will determine the weight that you need in the clutch. All of the Polaris engines need to be running at 8,000-8,150 rpm. You may need lighter weights, or may need to get the clutch rebuilt. Balancing the primary clutch helps a lot too. Don't know why you would be fouling a plug. My 700s haven't fouled any yet and they are a 07 and a 10.

If it has had all the updates done to the unit it should have 2 ring pistons in. That was the last of the updates on the 800 when they took the 08's and 09's to the dual ring piston from the original single ring.

So it turns out that it is a 2010 800. Cyl casting # 3022201. So seeing as it has the dual ring pistons does it still need the "fix kit"? Does the clutching that it has seem ok for stock sled?? Below 3000ft?

Yes. It most definitely needs some type of fix kit! The cheapest kit I have seen is 389 with spi piston.imo any of the fix kits are better and more reliable than stock.

Well I can get the mnttk kit for 600 or the bikeman kit for around 500. What is the best kit?

I would be cautious of the Bikeman kit for now, go check out HCS.com and read some of the problems those guys are having and lack of support from Bikeman. I am happy with my MTNTK kit, but I would also look at RK Tek's replacement pistons durability kit. If I had to do another 800 right now I would go with RK Tek's set-up.

Awesome. Thanks. So I guess I got kind of a bastard sled. 07 dragon 700 with a 2010 800 engine. I there any differences is the 07 and 10 iq chassis? Also is the 10 dual ring 800 any more durable than the previous single ring 800??
