Drag Race - 570 Berg vs 690 Enduro

09 Husaberg 570 Enduro w 2013 kit and JD jetting tuner set at stock settings, 2010 KTM 690 Enduro w 2011 kit.

From a dig both starting in 2nd gear - I gained 3 bikes lengths right out of the holeshot. After that, very close. Did this twice to verify.

Third go, 2nd gear rolling starts, just off idle.. was neck and neck. I feel I could have gained a half length overall but I hit limiter twice for a sec.

He said fkit at that point.

I bet I'd be even faster if I'd have started in 3rd and slipped the clutch a bit, but didn't want to be hard on the bike.

I'm a good 40 lbs lighter, and my bike is probably 60 lbs lighter than his... The extra hp he has allows him to keep up from a rolling start, but I wouldn't trade bikes for sure. The one sweet thing is he has a temp gauge - nice to know how hot you're actually running.

I wonder how cool an air speed shifter would be to keep every bit of momentum in a climb.

Nitrous is next just for those rare moments when climbing and the bike just won't quite pull the gear you need.. bump the Nos for a sec or two, and I'm sure that will solve the problem.

Still dreaming of a turbo!

With a 100# deficit I'm surprised he stayed that close. Don't bother with nitrous, just become tillbilt's buddy. What are you using for a bottle and what grade of fuel?

After riding a friends turbo 450sx, I'm eager to set up the 20hp shot of nitrous on the Berg. Might not have been a completely fair comparison as he has a ST and when I rode it briefly.. I felt like I'd go over backwards if I really twisted. Amazing bike and kick *** turbo setup, but with the ST it didn't a whole lot more than our stock bikes. I'm guessing with the LT it would put a lot more power down and leave us in the dust/at the bottom of the climbs.

I think more often than not, nitrous will be the ticket to get me the same places he can go without problems. Plus at less than 1/6th the cost, its appealing from that standpoint as well.

Oh and an update - in the mtn's when climbing.. I dialed all my JD tuner settings leaner by .5.... then smoked him on every climb.

Not only that, but the Berg is much lighter when stuck and trying to pick it up.

The thing about nitrous is where will you attach the bottle? Not much room. And the bottles are very small. I had a 12.5 carbon fiber bottle on my sled. Hid it in a Boss tanker seat. It was nice but it still ran out.
