DPM soleniod

Reguarding my Problem child rev: Revsum mentioned checking the dpm with a 9 volt and bell wire. I took the solenoid out of the dpm, put the bell wire in the corresponding holes in the female end of the plug and touched the other end of the bell wires to the battery terminals......... nothing!

Questions:
1. Did I hook up the bell wire correctly?
2. Should I be able to move the solenoid plunger by hand? I can't move it.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it:)

I'm sure you powered it correctly since there are limited possibilities. If it doesn't work start with the WD-40 but, I couldn't revive mine that way! A new one clicks. $150.00 ouch! It's less than shop time though. Keep us posted.

You can connect the solenoid to the ecm after removing it from the housing . you can see it opening and closing above 3000 rpms. I also connected my solenoid to a 12 v power supply. a 9 volt battery might work.
