I was wondering if there is a way to get my dpm tested on my 02 summit 800 can i test it or do i have to have a dealer test it.

I bought it used and i have added everything apart but the low end of the motor and want to make sure that that is working

Never heard of anyone having trouble with dpm, Iv'e got 2 sleds with dpm and just bought a 3rd last night, the only problem I see is most of these sleds with dpm are jetted too rich to start with and if you start out rich and the dpm compensates for the altitude or temp change you are still going to be rich. I jetted down 2 sizes on my sleds and they both run great, I got 20mpg last week with an 02 700 renegade but yet it will run 100mph on hardpack at 6500 ft altitude, what more could you want, mmmmmhhhhh, must be the Blue Marble.

Just make sure the lines are in good shape. I had a 02 summit where the lines going into the carb were loose and deteriorated. It caused a bog in deep snow when I really worked it. Changed the lines then it ran great after that, until the piston came apart but that's another thread:D

My friend and I noticed inconsistencies in ours, and pulled them off years ago. Maybe just a fluke, dunno, but I haven't had mine connected for some years. Have since put on powerjets.

there's a known issue with the solonoid valve on the dpm issues for those summits. so just the hoses might not fix the issue. when i pulled mine off i installed powerjets and an EGT gauge. super easy to tune and runs waaaaaay better.

If you take it off then don't you have to jit it very time you change different elevations.

jack harris power jets. the most simple thing ever for jetting. put a baseline main jet in of some sort and you can go up and 12 sizes from there with the power jet.

huge range of jetting and super easy. open your hood twist the knob. changing a jet size in my sled takes less than 15 seconds and that counts shutting the sled off.

to make it even easier buy an egt gauge. no plugs to read, no piston wash to worry about. watch for the right temperature jet up or down accordingly
