Download Music From Where?

bittorrent.... uh huh...

or if you know people who are into that sort of thing, one guy i work with used to work for a certain hard drive manufacturer, so capacity is a non-issue for him...

...college LANs are anohter great place for music/movies...

IRC you can get albums weeks before they hit the stores if you know where to look

OK it takes a bit longer but I have found the easiest (free) way to get music is to use a program called Audacity (IMPOSSIBLE to get a virus this way). It is a recorder and I have mine set to record what the speaker is playing and then go to youtube, launch, pandora etc. and find a video/audio stream and just record the audio from that. It also can convert the recording to either an MP3 or an Ogg Vorbis (some silly mac thing I think). I also record internet radio this way and then dump the stuff onto my ipod with Itunes.

Genuine

If you want quality, and originality,
I use I-tunes. The quality is unsurpassed, and you get uninterrupted music.

If you are too cheap to buy, I would recommend trading CD's from a friend and going from there.

Ogg Vorbis (some silly mac thing I think)

open-source, supposedly "lossless" (no such thing) codec. Apple's AAC is similar to OGG, that's the "silly mac" format.

I don't care much for them.... they sound good, but ther'es only a handful of decent players that support them; and no portable devices that i'm aware of.

tl;dr: t's more of a *nix thing than a "silly mac" thing.

I use www.g2p.org

It is the backdoor to peoples FTP sites.

It is sometimes tougher to find stuff but I don't have to be worried about getting busted.

And there is nothing to download. It is a backdoor search engine for music.

Go onto Rooost.com, it's another snowmobile forum. We've been exchanging music on there for awhile now. Warning, there's swearing in all sections and nudity in certain areas.

I tried to upload a song on here and it wouldn't let me. :(
