Not sure if he wants it made public knowledge, but Too some of us, he is a friend, a savor, or most important the greatest source/tool of information on avalanche conditions and safety, and now is on Facebook.

Since I came across him on facebook, I thought I would share this information, to anyone wanting to say hello and thank you to Doug. The work he does for us sometimes goes un-thanked. We all read his daily reports, prior to a trip and gage our day based upon his reccomendations. To many, he may be a faceless report, well now put that report to a person.

Sorry Doug, you may now become the most popular person on Facebook.

Talked to Doug a little bit last year after we were involved in an avalanche up Buck Creek. In retrospect, we made some gigantic mistakes and were very lucky to be alive. He ignored all of that and was basically just interested in all the facts, never once belittling us in any way. Definitely worth his weight in gold and always full of positive, good info.
