Doo shot on a pro?

Any ideas if this can be retro fitted into the polaris pro? It would be a great upgrade for those with shoulder problems.

Doubtful. Part of the reason it works is the crankshaft needs to turn so little to "fire" the motor (kind of an etec exclusive)

It's capacitor that feeds back into the stator , turning the flywheel instead of the other way around. Not retrofittable to anything that wasn't designed that way. Doo claims it only works with the E-tec, but I'd bet the Cat 600 and 800 DSI might be able to make it work also. Might be able to make it work with others if you could store enough power to turn the motor over a few times, instead of just a partial turn.

If i had shoulder problems I'd get electric start, SHOT won't go first start in morning when you do the most pulls anyway

Definitely get E-start. This shot thing only give you one "shot" at starting. If it doesn't start, you are going to be pulling the rope. If you stop for lunch and dont start again within 30 minutes, you will be pulling the rope. If you get stuck and are longer than 30 minutes getting out . . ..well, you get the idea :)

It very innovative, but needs refining and that will happen in the years to come. Its a good start (pun intended) though :)

I disagree. I don't need electric start 50% of the day, but when you're off camber stuck on a sidehill, yank your sled around and the pull cord is buried in the snow, you'll be glad you had the shot. THAT is what it's intended for...

Regarding E-shot on the 'doo, why not just charge up the cap with a portable battery jumper for first start of day to help those with bad shoulders? It'd be pretty easy to wire up with a quick disconnect plug to do this.

I agree - I think it would be simple to do - just find a need and someone will find a way. I really hope to see this come to Polaris soon. I love the idea!
