Don't know boys ...but thinkin about going Blue

proof that marketing works

The nytro dont weigh 480 my friend...

anyway ride whatever you preference is (chutes/boondock/himark/trail/etc), not what ppl type on a keyboard

Not sure what sled you're refering to, but the REAL weight of a Rev, M, or Dragon is not 480...they are ALL 500 plus dry (this is from their shipping tags...which of course the dealers and mfg dont share in their advertising). Nytro dry is 550...a little heavier, but not much.

Glad you are the authority on weights and not all the guys that weighed their sleds. Nytro is somewhere between 60 and 100lbs. heavier than the competition.

Never claimed to be an authority...just know what the shipping weighbills say...

People's scales are just like dyno's...funny how the numbers always are so favorable and exagerated. So I dont know about the accuracy of everyone's scales, but the shipping weighbill HAS to be accurate for the shipping companies and customs.

I agree that the Nytro is 100#'s heavier than the XP...that was the point of my first post.

My other point is that the Nytro isn't so much heavier than the REAL weight of the sleds that until this year, everyone was praising for being so light and nimble...just like all the new Nytro owners are reporting now.

Dont be so sensitive.

I too was in this situation, four stroke relabilaty or two stroke lightness. I thought about an xp but I bought a nytro and turboed it, and yes it rips. I have ridden an xp they are fun, but they have no where near the potential of the nytro, I am only pushing 8 lbs of boost right now, but every time I ride I can keep pushing the boost up to 18 psi which would be insane. I am a recovering rmk 900 owner I have felt the burn of replacing a belt every 70 miles it sucks. I use to think to myself how come a 400 hp tapex does not blow belts. As far as the first year glitch excuse, I have never heard of yamaha recalling anything apexs, phazers, and nytros because yamaha puts out a quality product. Just look at the dirtbikes fourwheelers anything the days of 2 smokes are numbered.

have fun with your turbo'd hog log. i'll see you in the trees sittin there deciding the straight way through as i carve the "tight" line. carefull though. all that weight sittin in one spot,,,,,,, might sink if a pine cone hits ya. yeah yeah yeah,,,, you make a lot of noise cruisin up a hill at 150 mph. but thats about it. lets see ya jump that lead sled off a 50 foot drop. i think the submarine effect may come in to play a little more. with all that power you should be able to jump it at least 200 feet or so. but all the guys jumpin sleds are on somethin light weight. so what is it good for. ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh. thats right ,,,, goin 150 up a hill.

LMFAO............ i'll be leading the pack thru any tree'd area you can find!!!!

Well I used to think Yamaha put out quality sleds , fit and finish were surperb. They just seemed to weigh more, even there 2 strokes back a few years. We have bought seven new sleds in the last 10 years, Doos, Pol, and now a yamaha phazer. We never returned any of the Doos or Pol. for warrenty work, never had any problems. The phazer is headed back to the dealer for warrenty work. Of all things the hot grips never did work. Its just my luck to get the only Phazer with problems, I hope this is the only electrical problem I have with this sled. Dino

aw cummon, stock? you can't be serious.....I rode with one last weekend in Hasler and there's no way he could even make it up some of the little chutes leading into the trees, let alone 'docking through them. he may not have been the calibre of rider you are, but there's only so much a human can do with a stock nytro. you are human, no?:D

I would like either one but what I have seen on the forums about the reliability of the xp ( my 1st choice of next sled ) I think it will be a Nytro. If it handles anywhere near a Rev I'll take the back seat in performance to the xp and if I can boondock with them after its dialed in... bonus. A turbo(or anything with more than 200 hp) sled is harder to boondock in the tight stuff anyway because of the more speed you carry the less reaction time you have.

Revs the same weight as nitro???? An 04 might be within 20-30 lbs??? But comparing apple to apple.

(What manufactures claim sleds to be, and dont tell me one cheats more then the other, there all wanting there sled to be the lightest on the scales)

07 XRS claimed weight was 468lbs with a 16 wide 151, 08 nitro 151 15wide is 550lbs, thats 82 lbs difference.

I think that a Nitro like alan? from timbersled would be a sick sled to ride but thats also a 25000 plus set-up.

You guys keep making my point. 07 Rev "claimed" weight of 468...so SkiDoo miraculously lost 60-70 lbs in 3 years, even though side by side they were basically the same sled (except the later years had beefed up front susp...which ADDED weight).

My point is that the Nytro is close to the weight of the sleds that, until the XP came out, were being praised for being so light and nimble and easy to ride. That is the same thing the new Nytro owners are reporting. Yet suddenly, the Nytro is too heavy to consider.

Makes me laugh. LOL.

there is no doubt that snomobiling will soon become an all 4stroke event. the fact that yamaha is so far ahead in that department right now will seal their dominence for the not so distenet future. at this point i want a light weight boondocking hill climing mutherfocker. and the only place i am satisfied with my demands is the skidoo 800 summit them fat juicy titties.

remember: a kick in the *** is a step forward!

But that's not dry,,,dry by the manufacturers standard is no oil,( in shocks or engine )no coolant, brake fluid and no tools or belts.

Who cares about dry weight? Can you ride it dry?
08 Nytro rull of fuel/oil/etc stock was 535lbs
08 Nytro full of fuel/oil/etc With MCXpress turbo was 660lbs
07 Dragon Full of fuel/oil etc with boondocker turbo was 615lbs
07 M1000 full of fuel/oil etc Light seat & Can was 590lbs
08 rev 800XP full of fuel/oil etc bone stock was 555lbs
They are all fun to ride & can't honestly say you can feel the weight difference when riding them.

Sorry my Nytro stock weight was supposed to say 635lbs Typing error
The M10 as it says has a light weight seat & Can
We weighed all of these sleds I mentioned with the same scale on the same night. So who doctored the weights?
