Does your motor move?

I have a 2012 Assault w/ 320 miles on it. With the belt off, I lifted up on the primary clutch. As I did that, I was watching the motor mount that is between the prirmary and secondary clutch. There is clearly movement going on. The motor moves up and down slightly and you can see the motor mount moving up and down in its hole.

Thoughts? Normal?

My 2011 does as well... I put in new motor mounts and it did not really change anything!!! I have never had a belt go and I have over 2000 miles on it now.. I change my belt every 1000 - 1200 miles.

Joshkoltes - Are you saying the motor mount is broke?? I will pull it out if need be to double check. I have heard that the 2011's had issues with motor mounts but there was an update kit for them. I was under the impression that the 2012's were good to go and I have not heard of any 2012's with motor mount issues...have there been?

I have the SLP torque arm installed as well. By the way, sled runs great. Just making sure this is ok...

The movement I have is simply the small gap between the black rubber of the motor mount and the hole it sits in. That seems logical I suppose but I am surprised that it is not a tighter fit I guess..

My 13 did had the same movement from new. I thought something was wrong
After inspecting it everything seems good.

I just changed all the motor mounts on my 12 Pro. I noticed I had been losing rpm's lately, about 100 to 150 below, sometimes more, than where it should be. It was recommended to me to check and change motor mounts. Ordered new motor mounts and as I looked closer I noticed there was a tear all the way across the rubber in the mount on the motor that the factory torque arm bolts to. I think that was allowing the motor to move more than it should and started streching the mounts. I then had to go back and order that as well. I ordered all inserts and the mounts that go to the frame. The 2 front inserts looked kind of squashed or flat between the grooves and 1 of the frame mounts had the thin rubber torn all the way around. I assume this was from streching from the torque?? After changing them I did get the rpms back. Put SLP torque arm on as well. Motor did move a little bit after changing the mounts but moved more before. They are spendy tho:face-icon-small-sho

Mixed responses so far...some say their's move but that is normal, others say they shouldn't move. Maybe a few more responses to get some concensus would be good...

Anyone else?

The motor does move as per design. The rubber will wear out but is a necessary evil that all consumer sleds have.

The great-to-talk-to people at SLP have a torque arm that they recommend to help with this (because they have seen it too). Give them a call. Get one if the sleds a keeper.

Or the FTX motor plate that the boosted sleds around here run. It adds two more mounts and keeps crank case flex off the table.

I have neils mounts and recommend them. Pricey but worth it. No need for torque arms. There a solid style mount not like the stock ones with ribs.

Ive got Neils mounts in my 2011 T Pro. There is a bit more vibration but not a lot. My Buddy tried my sled and he didnt even notice.
