I think it looks great

I think travis looks great and ready for some lessons on the snow on how to ride. First lesson trav is to get a real sled. Second you need to ask team eXcuses for a little help in pretrip on your sled. Third follow your teacher and take notes.:present:

someone sure is proud of their survival gear. just hope you never realllllly need it.

FYI for above poster, that is Gold Creek where they are I believe.

no_uh...oh... we are proud of our survival gear. both of us were sporting our ABS bags. i think we'll make it a tradition to take photos of all our rides with our abs bags on. that way we'll show everyone WE are prepared.

oh, i got one better...we'll also take pics showing our beacon, probes, and shovels too! oh, we're sooo on top of it.

and no...those photos were not taken at gold creek...they were taken at our top secret traning facilities. you're lucky you got to even see that.

There is nothing at all wrong with showing your avy gear and being proud of it. Sets a good example showing it in pics. :)

safety gear

I think wearing saftey gear is always a smart plan. Everyone in our group has beacons, shovels, probes and ALWAYS have them with us. 2 ft or 20ft it doesn't matter. Better safe than sorry is my thought. Keep wearing them and keep riding.

in my earlier posts i have been just joking around and hope nobody actually got offended. secretely, i am just jealous cause i don't have an abs bag.

that being said, i am wearing my beacon to the grocery store tonight because it's supposed to snow up to 6" around the sound today.

Ya no reason to flame someone for sporting safety gear no matter what the conditions are,all of us can't wait to try out our new equipment as soon as we can. How many of you have sat on your new sled in the garage in August pretending you were riding, it's alright admit it. I have to admit when I saw the original thread there was one picture were you had a sled on its side under a tree in six inches of snow (kinda) made the ABS pack look a little out of place and I got say you probably got a laugh out of it as well, but nothing to get slammed for. Never too safe, it's when you think a safety device isn't needed that's when you'll get in trouble, besides you paid good money for it, it does no good sitting in the closet. That being said, a reminder to everyone on this site that we could have a record year in snowfall, let's not have a record year in avy deaths, lets shoot for ZERO :amen:

Wow! you need your abs bag for 18"... what next? oh lemme guess you'll start towing your boat when it rains...flame flame
someone had to do it:pound:

^^Really?

A person was killed in an avalanche today at Wolf Creek Ski Area, which is closed for the day.

The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office were called to the ski area.
The Sheriff’s Office planned to issue a news release later today.
A recorded phone message at the ski area said Wolf Creek is closed today “due to the fatality of a staff member.”
Efforts to reach resort officials were unsuccessful.
The death is the first avalanche-related fatality of the season in Colorado, according to the Avalanche Information Center in Boulder.
Wolf Creek was reporting 18 inches of new snow in the last 48 hours.
