I have been riding a nytro since 2008 and I still have 3 gallons of oil left over from 08 is it now safe to use or does oil go bad?

The oil has been kept in a storage shed.
The jugs are sealed and have not been opened but it does get pretty hot in the shed during the summer months

Did some research and this is what I have come up with

I never heard of a shelf life for oils, so I did a little digging and came up with this from an SAE oil guy:

OK....some of you guys know my background (exhibit manager at SAE..yes the guys on the oil can, SAE 10W30 etc).

"Oil is oil...period...biggest difference is certain companies blend additives to the oil. In addition, oil does not have a shelf life. If you use a large capacity container or buy in bulk...just make sure to keep the container's lid closed and tight....

One of the engineers here at SAE laughed when I brought up the question of oil and shelf life...he responded by saying that the air in your tires goes bad too and tell your CW guys to change the air.

Simply keep the oil tightly closed and it should last almost indefinitely. Using newer oil only gives you the advantage of the newer blends coming out and whatever new technology has become available to the public."

Heres what i found at my shop with a brand name oil. i use quite a bit of oil as well so it never sits around opened long and never with a lid off. I buy oil a bunch of cases at a time so some times i may have it for a second year. not to mention how long did the supplier have it before i got it. At the end of using a gallon jug of oil i needed a cup so i thight i would cut the bottom off the jug and use it and to my suprise in the bottom of the jug was a deposite of a almost carmel colored ooze for lack of a better word (it was pretty thick) i was oh crud whats going on here? it is a synthetic so not sure whats in there to seperate or how long it needs to sit to get like that, but i will never use it again with out a rough shaking And i'm not sure that is enough. Just a experiance i had.
