Does having a warranty really help sell a sled?

I snow checked a 13 and am torn on the 4 year warranty. It basically is costing 450 cash for the additional 2 years. I wont own the sled four years so it will really only matter to a buyer. Would you pay a little extra for a sled still under power train warranty?

I think a remaining Warranty is very attractive on a used sled, especially a 2 stroke. The resale would be higher on the sled with a remaining warranty.

IMO, yes.... I would be more interested in a used sled with an engine warranty than one that didn't.:beer;

Yes it is very important especially on a mountain sled. I will not buy a used newer sled without a warranty, too expensive to fix when a motor goes down.

Considering sleds with the more bullet-proof 600 engines, the 2 year and $600 in accessories is the more attractive offer - for some of us anyways.

If I was keeping it I would do the 2 year. I will probably keep in for 2 then sell. I think the 4 year is the ticket though.If it makes it easier to sell I guess I just take the 450 dollar gamble.

If selling a used Pro you will get MORE money with a longer warranty. Hands down.

If you actually read the four year wty, its hardly worth the paper it is printed on. Ask your dealer for a copy of it and enjoy. Get the 2yr and save some money. A buyer can always add it at a later date.

ask your dealer about the aftermarket warranties. I hear they are way better than the Polaris version. Dealers get approved quicker for most all claims with out any hassle.

I came on the Poo side for the first time to ask this same thing!
Getting a Pro 800 for me, and am thinking of getting a 600 for the wifey. But need to decide on warranties. The 2yr with $600 back makes it easier to swallow buying the wife a new sled that will rarely get ridden. (A backup for me realistically.)
I talked to a bud today who kinda explained that the warranties are limited, based on the value of the sled and that after a while, you can run out of coverage. (He is $1300 away from no warranty on his Dragon, even though he has time left.)
So with the 600 engine, seems like 2 yr would be the way to go? Cannot decide on the 800. Need to talk to dealer I guess, to get the specifics.
