Does anyone like their 155 RMKs? :P

After reading the thread about "163 Really Worth It", it makes me wonder how many 155 riders actually like their 155s.

I had a Summit X with a 159 x 16 and downgraded to a 151 after my 1st couple rides..
The 151 x 16 worked great for me, was much more playful or flickable.
I rode with some 16#" sleds and kept up fine, generally, even in Colorado's dry pow and stupid deep Rabbit Ears snow..

I'm now, most recently, am coming off of a turbo Nytro with a 162 x 16...and feel I want to go back to a shorter track (155).

I understand 16# are easy mode n all...but I'm coming off a turbo, and I found it to be TOO easy mode [for my riding style], I want a challenge.

Those riding 155's and liking/preferring them, represent. :)
Or do you all just wish you had the 163?

Rode in 3' of fresh this weekend and I've never had so much fun. This sled is amazing in powder. Had some skidoos, cats and dragons with us, and the pro was a much better sled in 3' of new snow. It just kept going. I've only ridden my 155, but I've never had so much fun. Would a 163 go better? I'd imagine, but this sled is FUN in all conditions.

These type of threads mean that there isn't enough snow in your area cause now were thinking about stuff like this too much.:D

I love my 155, I know guys want the extra in the 163 but it's just not for me and I have zero complaints about my 155. Saturday we rode in the deepest snow here in SE Idaho and the Pro just flat out works great

If I bought another Pro I'd still get the 155". It gets unstuck just fine and it stay on top of the snow so well, that I'm not trenching as much as I did on my D8 155".

I'm in the market for a RMK...so I'm doing my research. :)
Seriously considering a 155 because its close and priced right.

For the record, we've been getting dumped on for the last few days around here...stoked to throw a new sled at it.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

As I stated in the other thread, I love my 155 and would buy it again over the 163. I am a lighter rider and love the extra bit of nimbleness. If you think you will need it though, the 163 moves like a dream as well!

I love my wife's 155 pro. I am not a 163 fan. The shorter sleds are more fun and more flickable. When it get nasty, in the trees, the 155 will work better. The 163 has more traction but most days the 155 will have better track speed. You won't be dissappointed with the 155.

imho, a 431 pound sled doesn't need the 163, at least for my riding style. have rode 160ish sleds for the last decade and love the 155 on the pro. my buddie has the 163 so i ride both. i'm keeping the 155... it'll get you around;)

I can testify that what he is saying he true!! that 155 pro impressed me so much that day! course it must help that he only weighs 125 ;)

I love my 155. It goes anywhere I want to go and it does outclimb the 09 163's in our group, no matter who is on it.:D

(Sorry to get off topic)

I got 2-155's and they are all the sled I need. If I got a longer one, my bud's would not be able to spot me at the bottom of my trench.

You also don't want to get hooked on mountain riding. It is worse than drugs or elk hunting, all you want to do is "more."

I have a 155 as well and It goes places my 09 assault couldnt. But we dont get snow like that here anymore and those kind of pics make me drool. If I lived somewhere like that I dont think I would even want summer anymore.

This topic comes up a lot. Seems to me more track length means:
- more floatation
- more forgiving if you loose momentum
- slower handling
- more weight

I'd think rider weight, riding style, snow conditions, and terrain would all play in to deciding which is best for you.

I ride deep, blower UT powder high in the mountains. I never really see a trail and I like to boondock and shuttle snowboard lines. I weigh 165 lbs plus gear. The 155 seems to work fine for me, so much so that I can ride some pretty convincing lines 2-up with my wife on board for shuttle snowboarding. With both of us on board, I notice a significant reduction in climbing ability though and our total weight comes to about 280 #'s plus gear, so 300-310 #'s.

On the other hand, I jumped on a 16X Cat M8 recently and had no trouble ripping tight turns and generally throwing it all over the place. I didn't jump the M8, but I understand they're a bit different feel with the longer track. I'd love to try climbing 2-up on a 163 Pro to see how that does. But since as a matter of safety, we usually establish steep lines with just 1 rider on board, I rarely need climb serious lines 2-up. So, I'm right back to being stoked on the 155 again.

For my money, the deeper the snow, the tighter the lines (where riding slow is required), the steeper the lines, and the heavier the rider, the more you favor a long track. The lighter you are and the greater your ability as a rider to maintain momentum, the less you need the long track and may be able to leverage the quick handling of the shorter track.

Turbos apparently change everything, but that's another subject of which I'm no expert.

I am totally stoked on my 155 track but I wouldn't turn my nose up at a 163. Remember, it's 90% rider, 10% sled when we talk equivalent modern mountain sleds. Hell, it might even be more like 95% rider, 5% sled.

I have the 163" but honestly I would be happy with either one. I weigh 210lbs + gear, I think if I were a bit lighter I may have saved a few bucks and a few pounds and gone for the 155".

The 163" on this thing is almost like cheating.....the floation and traction are pretty amazing.

Well assumptions made but my next years (if they give me one) sled will absolutely be a 163.

Alot of this probably depends on where you want to go and how hard you like to work to come back (obviously the snow conditions you regularly encounter are key as well). I think it's funny to see awesome photos of sleds stuck in deep snow...I hate being stuck! I like riding. Just lazy I guess.

I flat out love this 155 Performance Partner 11 PRO and it's simply one of the baddest sleds on the planet for back country mountain free riding. BUT this sled with a little more track will be another notch towards the ultimate for what we like to do.

That of course is all just personal opinion and based solely on riding along switching back and forth with several different PRO sleds. Everyone to date including some way more snorty turbos I gave back and got on my own personal rider with joy ... BUT it still could be better yet. Weird to think this way because doesn't everyone always think what ever it is that they have is the ultimate BEST? hmmmmm :D

Like I said...this sled's feel plus I want a small percentage more track and a medium percentage more power! GREED

If I was Polaris I'd force all of you peeps to just ride a 163! It's like eating your veggies when you were a sprout. You didn't wanta but it was clearly good for you!
