Does anyone have a 2000 or newer Mountain Max Drive Shaft?

I am redoing a 97 MM700 and I will be pressing drivers onto the the drive shaft.

I broke a 98 MSRX drive shaft and I believe that the 99 or 2000 and newer drive shafts were made stronger.

If anyone has one of the updated drive shafts you wouldn't mind selling, please send me a PM.

I think a MM, SXR, SRX, Venture or Viper driveshaft would work.

Thanks

I have two shafts off of 99 vmaxs I pulled to do long track kit, both kits came with shafts with smaller drivers.

You need an 01 and up shaft. The end that goes into the bearing near the speedo sensor has a little notch machined in ito the edge. The older ones are cut at a 45 degree angle on the end.

I have a brand new '01 drive shaft still in the bag. I'm in Canada though and shipping may take forever at this time of the year. I won't be in the US until the 30th.

Thanks guys, this has been educational. I broke the one in my 98 MSRX and knew Yamaha gave me the "updated" drive shaft. I just couldn't remember what winter that incident took place.

Beels, I'll send you a PM.
