Does anyone feel bad for treating telemarketers like crap?

every telemarketer I know was on drugs or was a large slut

Depends on the day and what they are selling and if she has a good voice or not :)

Usually I just hang up, other days I just leave the phone somewhere and walk off, others I rant at em, etc.

NO!!!!!!

When they ask for me I tell them that I will get him and walk away. But keep checking to see how long they will wait. Every once in a while I will tell them that I’m come soon.:D:beer;

Hate them!!! I have 6 lines in my home, between business and personal lines and the best way I have found is a simple "AIR HORN" blast to their ear. Takes a couple times, but they get the point, so long as it's not the recorded crap. You can get one at walmart for a couple bucks or your local boating dealer.

Can you imagine being on the other end of the line when an air horn blasts in your ear? Simple and effective, maybe not nice but after 15 plus calls a day, who cares.

On the plus side, I find it therapudic (sp).:D:beer;

Hey, they are just trying to earn a buck!!! Be nice...

But, it is fun messing with them. I like to seem really interested in their phone service or whatever it is and ask all kinds of questions and drag it on for nearly an hour, if I have time of course, and then end it on "let me get your number and I'll call you back with my credit card #"

This time of year, election year, gets to be fun too.

Yea I agree with peeps trying to make a buck too. But that is what I am trying to do also. I don't have time to deal with Dish Network, (which I have had for 6 yrs), Warranty on my vehicle, Windshield broken, Supposed business loans, etc. etc. ALL day long. It gets old day after day.
Can't they flag certain #'s as a don't call? The no call list don't work, so I take it into my own hands to get them to leave me the HE!! alone.

Even my wife laughs at my tactics.:D

I keep a fog horn handy for such occasions :rolleyes: Dog goes nuts though and starts growling when the phone rings and I go for the horn. He dont like the horn too much :face-icon-small-dis neither does the feller on the other end of the phone

Most telemarketers will be fired if they hang up on a potential customer.... so I will start reading to them out of a manual or the phone book. when they ask if you are interested, just tell them yes and they can't hang up.

You can keep them there selling nothing for as long as you like, and pretty soon you get fewer and fewer calls.

I like to act all interested and let them start the pitch....then tell them to hang on as someone is at the door.......come back a few minutes later and repeat. then I just say ummmm not interested.....great fun.

not even a bit especially the east indian one that phoned me today not only did they always say ur last name so wrong they dont no basic english only thing they got down pat is ''whats your visa number''

If they don't get the message..

I at first listen a bit, you never know... LOL

I then tell them I am not interested, then if they still never get it, I either make them listen to my toilet flushing, or make them listen to me watch TV. When I hear the beeping from them hang up, I put the reciever on it's holder.

All done!:D

I give a signal to my daughter who then starts yelling in the back ground. I ask the marketer to hold on for a second, start yelling and making slapping noises. My daughter screams "No daddy, not the belt again!" After a few minutes I get back on the phone and ask "Where were we?" If they stay on the line we repeat again.

I usually just hang up on them or put them on hold and see how long they'll sit on hold waiting. Some of those people are very patient.
