Does anybody make a billet top gear for QD?

Happy Face Products is in the process of designing top and bottom precision Billet CNC machined, 7075-T6 alloy, hard anodized top and bottom gears for the 2013/14 pro which will have very tight tolerance specifications that will work with the stock belt.

When I spoke with them today... they have other things "up their sleeve" for the QD system that they did not want to talk about at this time.

This could be well worth waiting for!!!!

My concern is with the expansion coefficient of aluminum sprockets... A Steel upper may be better than an aluminum one.

I think aftermarket is going to dominate this QD "weakness" in the offseason if polaris doesn't do it first. i'm hardcore poo,and have a 13 with a QD, but i think the aftermarket is quicker than the OEM on this one!

PS- 400 trouble free awesome miles on my 2013 but am not so ignorant to think there is not an issue.....!! :)

I would carry a spare belt. I did the proper Break in, and don't drive super aggressive and my belt failed today .
Ill always have an uneasy feeling from now on.

Is anyone else noticing how many belts have failed in the 500 mile range? This cant be coincidence...
I did prober break in and all that stuff and dont really ride that hard. I broke my belt in not so nice of place with no spare of course and then my buddy melted a piston trying to get me out..I'm not screwing around with a new belt and just ordered the C3 setup.. dont like beening left high and dry it the first time my polaris has let me down ever in the last 22 years.

Yup. Bought one the day I picked up my sled. I haven't had to use it yet, but it is definately a piece of mind.

Has anyone stripped a belt during braking? Or is it always under engine load? Loosing one when braking is my only fear.

I stripped on when I was going down hill , locked the brakes on put the sled in reverse and punched it and it stripped the belt big time . I was try to stop on the hill and help my buddy get unstuck

My Bro blew his at 365 Miles

fully broke in, 365 miles stripped completely off shaft- belt shear at 365 miles climbing a hill, belt sheared and sled rolled down the hill 5 or 6 times , endoed twice , luckily , not much damage it took us almost 2 hours to yank it out 5 miles, not fun at all. also had a 3" track
