Hey guys,

Just wondering if an HPS ever needs to be 'repacked' or rebuilt at any time in their lives??

Have heard of some cans (not HPS) causing DET once they start to 'burn' out......

Thanks.

Greetings 200smk,

I don't know the answer to your quesiton but would recommend you ask the manufacture, a reasonable starting point, below please find the HPS web address.

http://www.hpsusa.net/

HPS phone number = 1.208.357.3343

Have fun,

If it has fibrous packing.... that packing will not last forever!!

I had to re-pack my CPI STINGERS every season (1000mi) luckily they were riveted together so they were easy to do. Most companies nowadays weld the end caps into the canister..making it a lot more tedious of a job

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Checked with Scott at HPS....he said it should not burn out for several miles "have opened one with 7000 miles and it had 70-80% of the packing still intact"

My dirtbike mufflers were screwed together so you could easily re pack it and was designed to do so, dont think ones welded solid are designed to re pack cause they have baffles not insulation.
