Do your enclosed trailer doors freeze shut?

Hey all,

I did a quick search but without any help so... your input is needed.

Last weekend we had to have 2 guys pound on / push from the inside to break the front and back doors lose on the enclosed trailer. Lucky I had some extra muscle and not just the girl with me.

Is there some trick you use to fix this problem? Like WD40 on the seal or something like that? I'm sure I'm not the only one with this little issue.

Thanks.

When we used to have a inclosed trailer I remember getting to the snowpark once and finding the front door froze solid. Took one guy pulling from the outside and two guys inside pushing and kicking and about 10 minutes. I think after that I tried silicone spray on the seal..

Try some RV antifreeze in a spray bottle the pink stuff.

I keep a broom and clean the snow out then spray it sometimes if it's major windy.

I gave up on the locks also. I don't lock it while towing and then put the locks on after unloading. I still keep a propane torch in a tool box in the back of the truck just in case. (for locks)

Ive noticed condensation from my heater. Maybe it waters up around the seal and freez's from outside seal temp?

Take wheel bearing grease and put a light, now I said light, coat of grease on the rubber around the door. This will help. Or buy a propane heater for your trailer...

Cool

Good question. I have had that problem also. I will try the silicone spray as soon as I kick the freaking door open again! I have not had the problem with my locks. I use the all weather master locks that have the cover on them. They are the only ones I have found that don’t give me problems during the winter.
