do you like the m1100 turbo????

The good, the bad, & the ugly...

I own one, and love the sled. Haven't had a belt issue, but never gave it a chance to have one, as I changed clutching from day 1. EVO products make the sled perform - but be prepared to beef up the driveline to handle the additional ponies. Fit and finish is crude at best, the drive chain is junk from factory, and motor / TCL / jackshaft need to be reinforced to avoid headaches later. That said, the chassis handles great for a four stroke, and it can be made into the ultimate weapon with very little investment compared to starting a turbo build from scratch. I'd buy another in a heartbeat...

Things way to heavy for my liking and I was surprised how much turbo lag it had, that being said with some (a lot) of money you can fix both those issues.

Turbo & lag...

What kind of turbo do they come stock with?
Turbo is an IHI. Lag can be reduced significantly with an EVO Boost recirculation valve & a bit of clutching. Sled will ride significantly lighter then the Yamaha, but heavier then a two stroke. EVO 215 reflash is a budget hp increase, but a bigger hairdryer makes the M1100T a totally different sled. If you've ridden any 4S with turbo, you already know that planning ahead is key to riding one effectively.
Ask yourself what you want: a lightweight two stroke, or a heavier four stoke. If the 4S is for you, the 1100 is the only game in town with a turbo on it, and is certainly rideable out of the box. Just hard to pass up on the potential that the machine has...

I really like it.........

I've never blown a belt, 1,400 miles. I'm coming off several mod. sleds. I don't want any days lost do to my tampering. Now I just ride.

I have modded a 2012 with the evo 250 kit, cold air, charge tubes, BRV, fan kit, roll over valve/teather, 174 X 2 1/2", CR Tunnel extension, XXXmodRod venting and bumper and board inserts, full 2 1/2" exhaust, OSP jack shaft snubber, Cutler primary weights and secondary torsional kit, HYVO drive chain and sly dog skis, belanger belt gaurd and belly pan gaurd, and turbo and header blankets. To do the same build on any other platform would have been substantially more money, as I have been able to all of this work on my own.
The pro's: smooth linear power from start to finish, very low lag, handeling is very simular to an apex. easy to throw around
The con's: driveline, i got a belt eater and it sucks the confidence out of you. fit and finish are not the greatest, but with some tlc it can be decent.

right now it's a bit of a love hate relationship only due to the belt thing.

If you are coming off an apex or nitro you will love the chassis. The motor makes tons of power and is bullet proof. I have a 2013 EVO super chute HCR 300hp and a 2013 EVO big chute sno pro 275 hp. Everyone who rides them loves them. They are heavier than a 2-stroke, but way more reliable fun.
If you want a set high hp sled, both sleds are for sale as they are my dealer demo sleds. PM me if interested.

1100

i have had several apexs now have 2 nytros and had a 1100 this season the chassy is well balanced and" feels" lighter than the apex or the nytro. the engine makes good power especially with evos help (i ran the bc275).. all that said the first response was pretty close, there is some stuff that needs to be changed out of the gate. julio

These sleds can be made to perform very well. Biggest complaint I have is the resale sucks. These things depreciate more than any other sled out there. I wouldnt recommend to buy one unless your planning to keep it a long time.

resale

if resale is a concern dont buy a snowmobile, the biggest problem with four strokes is a smaller segment of the market wants them especially when you get to used. it seems the guys who dont want to ponny up for new dont ride alot so it isnt worth it to ride a heavy sled for reliability not to mention the sled will go further than they want..
or just buy it used julio

do they blow belts like the 2012 cat m8..... if its 2012 I purchase

Nope, I still have the original belt and spare with around 1900 miles on them with a few gates in the mix. Been to Utah twice with it and trail/offtrailed here in Michigan. She's in the classifieds here if you need one.

Some were, some weren't...

If you are buying new, the dealer should know how to set parallelism & alignment. There has been a ton of good info this season from Evolution Powersports, Racin Station, and JustBoostIt,( among others) if you do a search. I will say that once set up these sleds are incredible - I for one will likely never own a two stroke as my daily rider again...
