I am looking for a versatile helmet. One that could be turned into an open face (for warmer conditions) & will also be closed faced (where I put on the shield) for the colder days. Is there a helmet out there that I could get the best of both worlds with?

best thing you could do is get a dirt bike style helmet. they make things that cover your face with up to your goggles that can also be easily removed for the warmer days. You will want to ride in a full face all the time in case you knock your face into the bars.
I think arctic cat made something like what you describe, don't remember what they called it.
im had one few years ago from biffie(i think thats the brand) it was called a snow pro 3.. could change from shild to mx stle viser..i allwas ran with viser and goggles .. so i traded it
