Do the 07 800 need the weight of the TRA

Do the o7 800r motors need the weight of the TRA drive clutch to keep the motor in balance? anyone got any idea on that one

I.M.O no Doo motor "needs" the TRA. They have it, does the job,no extra $$ to be spent if not required = happy 'bean counters". Ever ride a 800R engined sled with a P85? (approx 6lb lighter) quick response works great! An out of spec crank usually shows thru broken springs etc. Alot of people pull ring gear for quicker spool-up, or run the lighter race TRA. The heavier clutch isn't there for balance, to help dampen harmonics, maybe...

I ran a P-85 on my '07....lost a crank 3 rides later....coincidence? maybe.
It will definatly change the resonance and will shorten life if that resonance occurs at an RPM that is frequently run.

Does not need the TRA.. Make sure the clutch you put on is balanced and you should be good to go
