Do not port powerclaw!!!!

At least not excessively. I recently bought a used powerclaw from a fellow Snowester. He had bought a sled that had the powerclaw on it and was going to turbo it and didn't want the powerclaw anymore. The previous owner had ported the sh@# out of the powerclaw. So he dropped the price down to $150. I figured 'what the h@ll', a powerclaw for a $150. Well, that was a waste of $150. I don't know how the previous owner hadn't ripped that thing in half. The tracked lasted no more the 50 miles and was toast. We were way the h@ll out in California Park (Steamboat area) and had to tie the track together with a ratchet strap and limp it back home.

BTW - the guy who sold me the track warned me about this and I took the risk. It was not his fault.

It's a single-ply track, not exactly a surprise. I wouldn't port a single-ply at all.

Yeah its not the best idea to port a powerclaw.

I have 2 1-1/8" holes in mine. Has worked well so far. This is my second season. I have about 600 miles on it now.

Porting within reason should not hurt just because it is a single ply track. The XP's come factory with a ported single ply

Seen many powerclaws ported with no gains over mine nonported. I also heard Ski-doo will not be porting tracks next year, must be a reason if true....

The rolling resistance is the main reason why I did mine. You can tell there.

I have two behind every other paddle I think on mine, about 2k miles. Done with the BDX porting tool. It's done similar to a few others I've seen on here.

So are you still here Mike? Do you need a track?

No, we came home on Sunday. I was smart enough to bring my stock track with me just in case the power claw ripped. We got her changed out in 45 minutes and were back out riding the next morning.
