Do I you have to keep the small tunnel cooler?

I have a MCX turboed Nytro. I want to install a tunnel dump but the small cooler that runs along the top of the tunnel is in the way. Do I need this cooler? Or will it overheat all the time?

I would move the rear heat exchanger back further if needs be before I remove it completely. The other option is to get the 4-Pass tunnel heat exchanger that mounts at the rear of the tunnel from VE then you can remove the front and rear heat exchangers and still run 1/2 liter more coolant. It serves a purpose that's why Yami put there and you will be running even hotter with the turbo. Keep it in and move it. My 2 cents.

How are you guys running lines to the back of the sled. Due to the rear mount the exhaust will blow right where the cooler sits and the other side has the snow/air intercooler. I know that CR and Vanamburg run them on the outer extrusions but that would encorperate buying a tunnel and that is not in the budget.

Fabcraft is makings a rear cooler kit with Rail Cooler Tubes for each side. They custom make them to whatever size you need. No new tunnel needed.

i had to shorten the cooler due to the shape of the timbersled tunnel. My fabricator just chopped 4 inches off.

Why not just dump the exhaust out the back under the tunnel?

I was considering cutting the cooler down 6 inches. I want to dump the exhaust the same direction as the track is going.

i was gonna do that but it would take some work to get a muffler going that direction. No muffler is annoying. Also i didn't want the heat from the exhaust hitting the charge tube.

If you have the CR racing tunnel dump elbow I just cut the elbow off of the flange and rotated towards the track somewhat untill it cleared the cooler. Rewelded it back on then took a felt and marked a horizontal line parallel to the top of the track. Cut this portion off then reinstalled. Sorry no pics but its not really that hard. Way less work than cutting or moving the stock cooler.

I did try this but I have an ez-ryde and it mounts alot higher in the tunnel than the stock brackets. There is only a 1 1/2 between the track lugs and the bar that supports the turbo. I fabed up a pipe that basically shoots straight down with the back side a little longer than the front side , don't know how this will work, I guess I will see the first ride.
