do i need to remove engine to fix cylinder 2006-700

ive read mixed answers for a 2006 fusion 700 do i need to remove the whole engine to get the cylinder out that needs replacing/fixing or is there another option ? also besided a new piston and rings is there anything else i m ight need to replkace im forgetting ? thanx

Yes, the engine will have to come out, the fuel rail on the back of the engine will prevent you from removing cylinders.
Besides, consider this your golden opportunity to carefully check your front engine mounts. They must be removed and checked in a vice. This is key to belt mileage, and crankshaft life!

You don't mention what happened to lead you to the conclusion that one of your cylinders needs repair. I would definitely recommend splitting the cases so you can install fresh crankshaft seals. So whats the story? what happened to your engine?

really no big story just out riding and then i noticed a decrease in power..stopped,then the sled barley moved..i heard a rattle noise and sure as **** i broke a ring..which means new piston cylinder etc.. lucky we were close to a bar while waiting for a ride :)
