Do aftermarket skis really make a difference while boondocking???

So, I have a 07 M1000 162" with stock skis. Don't really have any complaints about them. They seem to do what I need them to do and do not limit me at all.

What differences have you guys noticed, specifically related to riding off the trail, with aftermarket skis. Do they make riding easier?

Any input would be appreciated.

YES is the short of it. I have a 2008 m1000 And i just when from stock to powder pro's and its so noticable. You can side hill easier they give you better floating abilty on the soft stuff. SO YES there awesome. HAHA

For me, yes. I went from the stock skis on my '09 Skidoo Renegade to Slydog Powderhounds and it's been night and day. Carving powder is way easier.

I think it comes down to what you have now. I've had Powder Pros in the past and they worked great!! Now, I have the stock Gripper skis I don't think there's much difference to justify the cost.

My $0.02 Had powder pros on my king cat loved them. Bought an M-6, after riding stock skis for 2 years upgraded my M to powder pros, hated the way they handled off trail I was so use to the way the stock ones handle that the extra flotation of the powder pros was just strange. So went back to stock. M-1000 might be a different story tho with the extra weight up front.
