If I could keep both I would but for now its one or the other. My 1200 on nitrous is lethal, I just cant keep a belt in it and the bulkhead is trashed. I got a big crack running up near the chaincase and near the tunnel.

I got one ride left on Saturday, hope it holds out. Doesnt help I rolled it down the hill last weekend cause I snapped a belt.

I am getteting ready to bring in my bulkhead and start fitting the motor. It is a Gen 2 bulkhead and I was wondering if there was any reinforcement needed anywhere. Id like to do all that kinda of stuff first.

Bulk head

i know on the edge the sides of the bulk head need beefed up, the whole side. You can not even get through one season with out taring one in two with the 1200 in there. I;m doing mine with 3/16 alumium plate fitted to the sides.

Snowstar and Larry....

What did you guys do to hold the engine in place for torque stops? I only am using the stock Edge one now. Im not convinced but on my old chassis i had a stop off the mag side shock tower pushing on the mag housing and thats the side that broke all to hell.

granted i only have about 12-14 rides on this bulkhead and it only had 400 miles on it when i got it but theres no signs of any cracks and i didnt reinforce it anywhere.

Im using the stock pusher and a puller arm on the PTO side and the 90 durometer motor mounts. If I were to build another Edge I would do the same side plates that Larry said.

It made it though its last ride today without breaking in half or snapping another belt.

What does a non ported pump gas 1200 make for HP ? Is it possible to see 240-250 at 0-3000' with VES cyls and 40mm flatslides?

the non VES jugs need porting way more than the newer VES to make big numbers

My 1200 project begins

So this was night one. Ripped the bulkhead out and started mock up. Mock up mock up mock up someone here said. So im getting ready to drill the motor plate and I decided to wait for the Tyson drop and roll to get here first. I will mount the shaft and housing then recheck my math. Just in case. I checked the runout and it is okay so this weekend I can mill my water rail and flycut my cases. I got the inside on seting up the stock extra-lite skid from Curtis up at Fastrax and Brad at Poweraddictions got me a smokin deal on an XCR ignition. So at this point I know alot of you have heard of both of these guys so I just wanted to confirm I have done buisness with both of these guys and I am very pleased with all the products and info from both. They are always willing to answer questions and give their input. Did I mention excellent product? Thanks Curtis and Brad. My project would not be going as smooth if not for you guys. More pics as I come along.

Brett's 1200

At long last. I put this motor together years ago and the sled is done. The owner took a truck load of parts to Fastrax and they fixed him up. Take a look, she is a work of art.

Getting ready to drill a Fastrax motor plate. Any tips or advise besides measure twice drill once.

BTW that 1200 is sic. Problably one of the cleanest installs ever.

Yeah measure a 3rd time!

I used spray paint or dykum (SP?) machinist paint to outline the cases on the motor plate when its all lined up sitting in the sled and drilled it.
