diy "Snow eliminators"? 1-1/2" wholesaw and a hacksaw?

has anyone cut their stock runners? would i run into any ill affects by drilling some holes into them and cutting 2 holes (1-1/2") together to make a rectangle? or even if i drilled 4 holes in a rectangle patern cut from hole to hole excluding the front 2 and just fold the cut out rectangle up to make more grip and a hole to let snow out. would i end up weakining my boards or would they hold up?

ok so say i was to cut out a alum template and bolt/rivit it to the stock tunnel/boards and use it as a stiffener and a template at the same time? that should help out a lot right? thanks

I have had snow eliminators on for the last 3 years, I used the hole saw to cut out each corner, then used a sawzall and cut out the middle. Rivet in the elimnators. Never had any issues, we had done several that way.

yea u need to use some type of templet to givw the boards some support. there r quit A FEW out there there is a lot of feeds on them just search for them and make up your own mind, but i dont sugest just cutting hole's in your running boards.:beer;:beer;

Sledding is an expensive sport, running board inserts are not a good place to try and save money. If I can offer you any advice, do not buy the Snow Eliminators for the Polaris Raw chassis, your better off spending the extra on the Better Boards. The Snow Eliminators are dangerous, they trap your feet in the foot wells, as the raised cleats go right up to the front of the running boards
