Has anybody built a DIY fuel filter for there Pro yet? or Dragon. 72.00 Dollars from the dealer is little high. Theres gotta be a way to build one cheaper. Thanks

why replace it? just cause poo recomends it so they can make money? vehicles with fuel injection go over 100,000 miles without changing it, so why would a sled with less than 2,000 need one? i'm all for maintainence, in fact i do way more than my share, but the fuel filter change is just not needed imo.

Gotta agree with you on this. When I sold my '08 Dragon a few years ago with 2000 miles on it, the fellow that bought it wanted to change the fuel filter, so I helped him do it. What a PITA! We took a hacksaw and cut the original one in half and it was clean as a whistle. No sediment or anything. He looked at me and simply said, "looks like I wasted $52". Yup.

I changed mine. Used a bench grinder to cut the pinch seam. Mine has under 1000 miles.

I took the cowling off from over the tank to access the upper joint, then popped the filter out of its mount and swung the filter and hose over the throttle bodies. Disconnected the other connection and re-installed the new filter. Worst part was paying for it.

I think the point of most of these posts is that it's not necessary. I'm not going to do it after reading these. I actually think I got soaked for one after a couple hundred miles on my 2011, because I had to bring it in for a rubbing wire and they said it needed changed for some reason. Not cool.

Look into Mr funnel I use one every time I fill my sled or wheeler. It removes water and sediments. When I drained my dragon tank last yr it looked like there was a beach in the bottom and swamp water laying on top just nasty.Flushed tank and changed the filter.I think it came from filling with cans so now I use Mr funnel you would be surprised at what you find in the funnel some times. I also cut my filter open to check it out close to 2000 miles on the dragon. It was pretty dirty but did not seem to be clogged. Take a flashlight and look into your tank if it is clean you are probable good to go.

For those looking for a less expensive alternative to the factory pricing, check out Hi-Performance Engineering at www.hiperf.com. $24.95 for the filter that fits Polaris 2008-2010 replacing factory part number 2520771 according to their catalog. I ordered one and it does not look different than the factory original.

Thanks for the info. But just to clarify does it appear same as OE for the IQ chassis or the pro chassis or both?

Thanks
