Disc Brake on a Hawk

What is exactly the Disc brake on the Snowhawk 600 04 ? I mean there is another option for remplacing it ?
Any jober Parts ? From ad boivin, its really expensive ?

Thanks for your help !

Ahh welcome to the Hawk crowd.. and the over inflated bovin pricing.. I would recomend seaching mc wrecking yards, etc..Or can you rebuild yours??
you could probably use about any DB rear caliper.. might need to move a hole..

Hey JIMO, I don't know if you want to find another one because yours doesn't work properly. If it's the case, or even if it's NOT the case, here's the trick (!!!) I found to make mine work like a Front Oversized Supermotard Brake :

THAT'S A CHEAP TRICK THAT EVERYONE SHOULD DO HERE by the way ! :

Get yourslef some prefilter material and cover the openings in the bellypan right next to the brake (you know these 3 ADB Designed oblong holes that makes our brake system a very nicely lubricated, wet, low temperature system  ).

What I actually tried is put duct tape on the openings last year. Covering them completely. It totally got rid of the poor brake feeling that's mainly due to all the snow getting in there that melts on the disc and in order to have a good brake feeling, the brake has to "boil away" the water, get dry maybe a bit hot, which will never happen because we don't really use our brakes for 15 seconds in a row... By doing this duct take thing, I ended up with more braking than I actually need and what's the best about it is that I know it's there if I need it ;)!

As you're doing this you might as well just throw some prefilter on the primary opening if it's not done already. That one is a true must. The other side of the bellypan, the bigger opening is not as much as a must but I'd suggest cover half of it, it'll prevent snow from getting on your pipe (and lower temp in the pipe-create bog...)

Hi TLKD
Well .. I had a really big hit with an unhappy rocks :p last years ... and it is not right .. SO I'll just changed it I think .. It Have too much Wave to be fun to use ...
:(
if not , the brakes was good but because of wave, I had to push the brakes5-6 times before to get brakes  .. a little bit dangerous ..

"Wave" or bent disc brake??

Check your shaft!

Last year I replace my disc brake because I had to pump the brakes several times to get them to catch. It didn't fix the problem. I figured out that due to an encounter with some rocks in the hawks previous life the shaft had been bent--thus the wobble in the disc brake which pushed the pads apart every rotation.

Replaced the shaft (with a stronger one than the stock--Sledr2 makes them) and the problem fixed. My disc brake was even chipped and sitll wasn't bent. Those things are tough and the shafts weak!

The brake stuff is all Brembo though. I bought mine online from Brembousa.com or something like that. You can also check the local Ducatti shop since they have the same brembo brakes on some of their motorcycles.

Hope this helps!
