Disappearing gas

I don't get it. I fill the tank up and then go ride hard for a few hours and the frickin gas just disappears. It's like someone siphoned it out when I wasn't looking.

I checked all the fuel lines and there's no leaks and all the fittings are good but no matter what I do every time I go ride my tank empties. My spare gas stays good until I add it to the tank and then it disappears too!! I barely get back to the truck sometimes.

Anyone else having this problem? Am I getting screwed by Polaris? Does Chevron warranty it's fuel? Am I breaking in my Honda ATV correctly? Should I stop chewing gum when I ride?

Thanks in advance!

F_ck'n Polaris

I have the same problem!

My biggest complaint is I can't ride the sled without it hurting my face either.

My cheeks cramp up so bad. Anybody else have this problem?.... I'm thinking class action lawsuit.

Who's with me?

Same here, ran it last weekend and just made it to the truck.
Face hurt from ear to ear.
Did tear a control arm boot but fixed that and determined I was burning a wee small bit of oil. Gas is $4.11 for 91 here but I will gut it out for the priceless fun.

If I had to guess I'd say you probably have a ported chaincase, and the fuel is leaking out the chaincase ports and burning up on your exhaust bearings...but it's just a theory.

I read your post and have the same sled so I must have the same issues! It's happening with my truck too, so that's new. Judging by the latest poll here, it seems that about 90% or more here are experiencing the same thing. What are we going to do!!

I thinks its the oil you use. There is only one that will work in these sled ya know...all the others are JUNK! Also you might try one of those little tiny windshields, for less wind resistance . .?

Oh, and i blew both the front and rear bumper belts on mine...really P****d me off!! I dont know what happened to the front one, but am pretty sure the rear one was because i had way too much Mexican food the night before :-/ And at nearly $1000 each, these buggers are gonna break the bank. I might just switch to Cat or Doo. They are better....right? :face-icon-small-ton

Man, our whole group has the same issue! 10 of us went out for a ride last weekend, only gone maybe 7 hours in two feet of fresh powder and three gas tanks were dry when we hit the truck! Had to siphon gas out of the wife's sled just so my son could make it back! It's like the stuff just magically disappeared! Can't find any leaks either. Everyone has weird suntan lines on their faces too! Ten sleds, all Polaris, Edges, Dragons and Pros and not a broken part to be seen anywhere just alot of great smiles! Let's see 10 gallons times 10 tanks times $3.50 a gallon - priceless!

Too many guys on these forums complaining and not enough laughing and smiling! Of the more than 100 riders I loosely associate with among the three clubs we belong to there has been almost no problems - and that's among all four brands - ok one 1100 turbo that quit working but reset the computer by unplugging the battery and he was good to go.

Go have fun! Winter's not over yet! Here's rooting for some of those big April snows! :face-icon-small-coo
