I'm putting this on a 2002 zx800 summit.
The instruction call for putting the:
Black wire ground
Orange wire to yellow/black off reg
Red to red out of reg

Didn't work no power

So I tried
I tried black to ground GOOD

Red wire to yellow from reg I now have POWER to unit

Orange to red off of reg nothing No tach
Orange to yellow/black off reg No tach
Orange to yellow from reg No tach

I tested red wire from reg for positive nothing
I tested yellow/black from reg for positive nothing

Any Ideas
Thanks

Hmmm...
Perhaps you have a DC based harness?
I had a digatron on my 01 ZX and moved it to my 07 Rev.
It had two leads, 1 black for ground, 1 Red for power.
On both sleds I grounded on the Y-pipe bolt and Red directly to one of the two yellow wires off the Engine prior to the voltage regulator.

Hope this helps...

I looked at my sled for you! I have a 01 summit 800. I have the digitron DT-50, my power wire goes to the Yellow wire befor it goes into the voltage regulator. That is how it gets your RPM, I guess it picks up the pulses, of the RPM.

jbsumbc is right, I run 2 of the 3-window digatrons on zx sleds and that's the way they are hooked up. You may have to switch the tach setting on the Digatron to get the correct rpm, explains it in the directions, believe my 800 is on 3.

I have an 03 Summit 800 that I am having wiring difficulties with my Digitron DT 51-S series gauge. I believe that when I bought the sled the tach/power wire was hooked up incorrectly so I was reading on Digitron's website and it says that the red wire from the gauge needs hooked up to the lighting coil wire before voltage regulator. So I was wondering where exactly the regulator is located and if the wire used is indeed a yellow wire? If you could give me a bit more advice I would appreciate it!

The regulator is under exhaust pipe on the left side and yes use one of the two yellow wires befor the regulator. Ground your other wire to the motor.

Ok great! I thought that was it when I was checkin it out. Is it going to be best to hook into those wires right near the regulator or should I trace them back to a more accessible spot? Also will either yellow wire work?
