Different driver's with a longer track?

I have a 99 summit x 670 and want to go from a 144" to a 151" or bigger. Do I need to change the drivers? I don't know much about drivers other than you may need to change them with curtain things. I know the sled is geared down so that should help... I've never changed a track before let alone extend one, so any general help and tips are extremely appreciated. Will a 159" track (found a good deal online with the extended rails and track) with 2-1/4" lugs be to big? I don't know about pitch and the kind of track I need ( not mountain or trail, but the tooth gaps or whatever they call em and width. 15"?) Thanks alot, plan on powder climbing and need more track.

I want it to look long as well, this one looks good to me...

As long as you stay with a 2.52" pitch, no need to change drivers. You will need rail and tunnel extension for the track you choose.

144-159 will need about a 7.5" extension on the rails...I believe SLP makes a 7.5" for ya. Do a search on here or on Dootalk and you'll find good info about pulling your drive shaft, its not too hard. Then bolt on a tunnel extension. About the gearing though, thats a big track to turn. I don't know what you consider geared down but you'll probably want to gear down further. You could always try out your gearing and if you find that it loses rpm's on climbs or your clutch isn't shifting out all the way then gear it down. Good luck.

Thanks guys. The guy we bought it from just said he geared it down, thats it, not sure how much. But I found a brand new 159" track with rails for $499. Thats a deal! I think I found a couple good tunnel extensions but I hope there long enough to cover the 151"-159"...

Make sure that you check tunnel clearance . 2.52 is the right pitch but going
to a 2.25 tall track may not clear . I am not sure on the x model but on 99 summit they came with shorter tracks . To install a 2.25 track you may need
smaller drivers and or a chaincase roll to clear . That is it it has not been done already . I would install longer rail myself to take up as much of the track as you can and then install extenders. 144 to 159 is a big change . I run gearing in the 2.25 to 2.48 range on my sleds . Both have 159 tracks .
