Difference in Simmons saddles?

I have a set of Simmons skis off of my Edge, but now want to put them on my IQ.. There are different part #'s for the saddles and have not compared them together hand in hand, but they look to be the same.. Does anyone know what the differences are between the regular Polaris saddles and the IQ saddles for the Simmons Gen 1 skis?

The height of the rubber dealie is different.

When I busted mine at rabbit ears, Dogmeat pulled set off his edge for the day. Flopped aroundo n the spindles all day. Got me outta there though.

so it isnt actually the mount that is different... Its the rubber... Does anyone know if simmons sells just the rubber?

simmons saddles

Contacted Simmons a while back. Wanted to take the Simmons off my 2000 RMK and put them on an IQ. She said it required different saddle and rubber. I think she said kit was about $45. I stayed with the skis on the IQ.

I have switched Simmons skis between my 98 Mtn Max, 2001 Summit, 97 ZRT and now 2003 King Cat. The differnt part #'s are for the minor differences in each make... rubber pad, bolt hole size, width of saddle, etc. The 2003 King Cat has a larger diameter bolt than the other sleds, the Mtn Max has a wider saddle so being the simmons came originally sized for that, they fit all my sleds. I just drilled out the holes to fit them to the King. All you have to do is pull one ski off and see if the simmons fits?... If its too wide, add some washers (in or out to widen/narrow your stance)... if the bolt doesnt fit, drill it! (and I honestly dont worry a bunch about the pad, all it pretty much does is reduce the front-to-back motion in the ski) I put the ZRT (stock) skis on my 92 Exciter w/o the pad and ran it all year... made NO difference.

I made my Edge mounts work on the IQ by trimming the center out of the rubber.

what did trimming the center out do?? Since it seems the mount itself is the same and the rubber is the only difference, what is it about the rubber pieces that make the IQ's different?

Anyone else?? Is it the rubber or the mount itself?? Mounts through the dealer are about $55 for everything, but only $6 a piece for the rubber so if thats all I need, that would be better.. Anyone else know for sure??

I switched my flexi skis from my 04 800 ve to my 06 900 with no problems, like said earlier you may have to trim the rubber blocks some. Im on my 3rd season. btw they made a big difference in handling. much better

It was my understanding that the holes in the IQ were drilled 1/8 inch higher then the Edges. On my 05 Fusion we actually used the Edge mounts with the Edge rubbers but we had to angle the bolt in and then used a large adjustable wrench with long cheater bar to put enough compression on the rubber and force the bolt through.

When I ordered the IQ mounts from Simmons for my 06 Fusions they were the ones that told me (at that time) about the difference in the mounts. They never said anything about different rubber.
