Difference between Pro RMK protapers and Burandt bars?

Is the only difference 7" rise vs. 5" rise? What is the pull back and width of each?

This pic shows the angle difference in the "sweep" of the bars.

This pic shows the height difference.

Thanks BugIto. It looks like the Burandt bars are pretty straight (zero pullback).

Thanks BugITo, I was wondering the same thing Crow was. Looks like I will be getting the Burandt bars also, I am 5'5", and the pro tapers are a little tall for my liking.

I haven't ever seen any in person, this link says there is 10 degree pullback though:

http://www.rsiracing.net/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=71

I saw that too but my guess is that 10 deg is upsweep not bar bend. Nearly all riser bars are 8-9 deg bend. The Pro Tapers are quite a bit more and, with their added height, just add to their uselessness IMHO. Can't wait to ditch mine for some Burandts when I can afford it.

Have FUN!

If forgot to mention my pics show the RSI bars cut down on the ends. I forget exactly how much, but with the RSI bar ends they are about the same length as the Pro Taper setup.

I really like the RSI website and their offerings. I bought my setup at the SLC snow show last year and I got a bit of a discount. The one thing I'm not crazy about is that last year RSI's website did not have a secure (https) checkout page. This might have change. If not, hopefully RSI will work on that.

The Burandt Bars are a 10 Degree Pullback.

The Burandt Bars are also made from 2014 T-6 Aluminum which is stronger than the 6061 T-6 Pol is using.

Thank you,
RSI

Any summer SnoWest discounts? I'd like to buy the bars, new heater elements and cork (assuming that is necessary?) and ODI Ruffian grips as well as some better bar hooks from you but have been struggling this year so may have to wait until next year.

Thanks,

G

x2 for the snowest discount. i would like to do new bars too

You all are the guys to ask, What exactly does it cost to swap out bars on the Pro? ...a real all inclusive price. Bars, Heaters, Grips, whatever else. Thanks

x3, I'm in.

I actually like the pro tapers. I've read how bars to high may put you in the wrong position so I tried my Pro stock first with out raising the bars. I'm talking most of the winter. It was too low so I ended up putting a 2",milled down to 1.5", powermadd riser block under the clamps. Wow what I difference. Now I'm back in my zone. But I am 6'2" with no boots on. The Burandt bars do look like a nice option for the shorter guys.

Well first of all, to each their own - whatever makes you comfortable. Chris Burandt is over 6 ft. He turned me onto the bars before they were even called Burandt Bars. He told me to call RSI and ask for the bars he is using on his sleds. He was giving some pointers on making the Pro handle even better in the trees on a slope. I believe his argument was leverage (which is lost as you move the bars away from the sled). I also remember Brett Rasmussen making the same argument.

I don't think the Pro Tapers are bad. I had to get used to the RSI bars. What I don't like about the Pro Tapers is the 90 degree bar ends catching on my jacket, pack straps, etc. They also get ice buildup because of that void in them. I did the RSI bars with their bar ends and heated grips to the ends - that all but eliminated the ice buildup and the lesser angle no longer catches my hoodies, backpacks and other gear.

Yes, that is why I tried them with out the riser, just got more comfortable and better leverage for me where they are now. Maybe because I have really long legs I don't know but I hate being hunched over all the time. As far as the bar ends I see your point. But those are not part of the pro taper bars they are add ons. Burandts a way better rider than me anyway. I don't thinks his bars are going to get me there. I just need to see what works for me.

Completely Agree, Long legs = SORE BACK WITH LOWER BARS
That is unless you spend the majority of your day on steeps, which I would love to say I do... But the hard truth is It's only about 15% of my day and my back being wrecked for a couple days isn't worth it.

I am not here to argue Chris' height and agree 10000% that the shorter bars are awesome and have the advantage when you do get off the sled and start carving hard or get to some steeps...

Just saying the benefit does not outweigh the pain (for me at 6'3" W/O Boots) when you are hunched over all day, even on really nice aftermarket shocks...

To each his/her own for sure, please post up what works for you!!!
