I've been toying with the idea of getting a programmer for my 6.0 Powerstroke. I'm leaning towards the Banks Six Gun, but wanted to hear other guys opinions. Thanks for any feedback.

Ive got the Edge Platinum in my 6.0. For what I need it is perfect...

I've ran the edge w/ attitude on both my D-Max's with very good results. Great power on demand and also great guage setup with built in safety features and alerts. Runnin EFILive on my D-Max now and just using the edge for guages.

Nothng wrong with Banks... it is quality stuff, but you will pay a premium. My buddy has the Big Hoss Bundle on his '03 6.0L. I was impressed how well it worked... he tows through the mountains regularly.
I've got a Bully Dog Triple Dog w/ Outlook monitor that I picked up off a guy here on SW. It's been on my truck for 20k miles or so with zero issues. I mounted the monitor in an A-pillar pod.. its clean and you can watch pretty much anything going on inside your truck. I usually just leave it on the Tow setting, its got more power than you'll ever need and is good for 2-3mpg as long as you keep your foot out of it. The performance and extreme settings are badazz... I roasted the stock clutch in less than a week.
But if I were to go new, it would be an SCT Livewire. For around the same price as my setup you get way more adjustability. It comes with some preset tunes, but you can install any custom tune you could ever want. Elite Diesel are Powerstroke gurus... they will hook you up with unlimited custom tunes to suit any application. Anything from fuel saver maps to "blow-your-motor-to-bits" setups. I know a few guys that run them and they do very well...

EFI Live is the way to go on a Dmax 100%...
If you look on the FTE website....most guys will tell you that the SCT programmer is one of the best on the market. Comes with three tunes but can also be custom tuned.
The Banks six Gun works very well......Have you had head studs put in your truck? If not leave that truck stock.. I have one and had a lot of trouble with the 6.0 (this is just my opinion)

I had a hypertech for years. Changed to the Bully Dog tripple pup. Much better now.
about 2 turns on a mechanical pump. all i run is mechanical. they get alot better mileage than a new rig ever thought of getting
SCT by Innovative Diesel, but if you run your truck chipped to the max with any tuners you run the risk of having to pay 70hrs labour for a shop to replace your headgaskets,egr cooler and valve,clean up turbo replace intercooler hoses and transmission.But if you have 15-20 grand to throw away go ahead it is alot of fun beating mustangs and rice rockets.I had a good run on some kind of new BMW sports car too.I played and I paid though.
SCT, with custom tunes. Eric has some great tunes(as do some others). Check out thedieselgarage.com. Get the tow tune with jake brake, awesome for towing.
