Is is just me, or is this section getting slower n slower???? What happened to all of the problems with the 800's. Oh, I know, everyone who had a problem is now trying to sell that sled in hopes of a new Pro, and so now the lips are sealed. Funny $hit

I'am not selling i like it run's dam good had one problem with the stator and that is it because the factory don't know how to tighen the bolts.:face-icon-small-ton

guess i hadn't heard about the not makin r's. gotta figure you could clutch around that pretty easy. lots of venting and vent the electrical cover over the vr, throw an extra ground to chassis just in case. Sounds like heat was the major killer of these things. my comment was more for the 800 haters out there, first we whine too much, then we don't say anything cause we all want to sell them, whatever! most of the issues can be gotten around pretty easily since the update and then they rip. and a lot of them ripped right out of the box with never a hiccup

I had a problem with the R's but changed the valve springs and that fixed that extra grounding vents pull's 8250-8300 all day @ 8000 ft . When @ home 4500 ft it will pull 8400 -8500 have to dam careful but this sled rip's

Mine also "ripped." I was loving every minute of it spanking my local dealer's Speedwerx 09 M8. I was also loving the moment when I was climbing past my buddies D8 163 with my 153 like he was stopped......but then I was not so lovey dovey when it cut out on me at the top of the hill and slowly died....never to start again. If I wanted to put up with something that could make me so happy one minute and **** on me the next, I would just stay home with the old dog.:face-icon-small-coo

fuel controller or turbo. problems solved. next topic.

Ya, go ride your turbo back in your flatlands. you sound like my dip$hit Cat dealer when I ask for advice on perfecting an 07 M8. "go put a turbo on it" exactly what he said. He made me so mad that I went home and loaded it up and traded it in on an 08 700 RMK. Looking back, I wish that I would have kept the 7 and put a turbo on it. Sorry to snap, you just hit a nerve.

Interesting as not one D8 in this area is making more than 8100. After I installed the PCV mine was working awesome. 8250-8300 all day long. Slowly started losing R's down to where is would lug down to 7200, found my rollers were shot, dealer got a whole new clutch for me. R's came back to 7900- 8000, but won't get anything more. I have tried different springs, dropped up to four grams in the primary, played with my helix, and none of it has helped at all. If you can tell me how to clutch around it I would LOVE to hear it, and would be eternally great-full.

The VR thing is true I believe that, and I have no problem doing that. I had two fail on me last year, put side panel vents in on top of all my other venting and so far so good this year. But not every D8 owner even knows what a VR is. Around here anyway I have mentioned it to a few and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Those guys wont vent it, or put in extra grounds. Cause they have no idea. and they will still have problems. It's something polaris should be dealing with. Not us.

Mind if I ask what your set up is? What color spring did you install? What's your clutching like?

I installed slp pink springs and as far as the clutching 10-62 weights black spring 140/330 blk/purple in driven 56/42/.36 helix

i haven't ridden the flatlands in eight years. probably never will again. I'll be an idaho local soon enough, so take it easy on the flatland comments. but you should turbo it if you can, you'll wish you did it years ago

I have only rode mine above 8000ft, so don't know about lower elevation clutching. when it had an slp single and 19/42 gearing i just had carls clutching and it worked great. AKsnowrider sounds like he has a better set up than that, and he is always more than willing to help, but he is at elevation also. BTW I don't know chit about clutching so that is why i just went with the kit and is why i said it seems pretty easy to clutch around some of the probs
