Did ebay change their feedback policy?

Today I went to look around ebay and much to my dismay, my 100% positive rating was gone and now I have a 98.1% rating. Now I don't have many feedbacks like some (155) and they were all good except 1 that was neutral because the guy didn't like my packaging. This was about 10 months ago and it did not affect my rating..........NOW IT DOES........What the HE11. I worked hard and prided myself on my 100% positive by taking care of my customers only to get shot in the butt by ebay. Bull****!!!

Thanks for listening to me rant:beer;

your welcome :)

well, that sucks! im always a little worried about sending money off to some private seller in Alabama but, it worked out good. Its nice to see how that person rates and stuff. but, 98.1 i really dont think you got much to worry about but ya i hear ya!

Maybe they have, people have been getting crazy over feedback, suing each other and stuff. Its ridiculous if you ask me. I had to check mine, its still the same. Anyways, I wouldnt worry, 1.9% isnt going to scare anybody away especially if they read the nuetral comment. :beer;

i not sure why your rating changed, but i think they did change their policy in that sellers can't rate buyers? not 100% sure tho, but there was a few messages from ebay not to long ago about this. Maybe you could contact someone an see if you can get it changed back.

i know i will not hesitate to buy from a 100% guy, but anything other than a 100 I will look to see why they don't have a perfect record. Not that i won't buy from them, but it just makes me a little more conscious about it.

anything less than 100% and I look up the history to find out why. when I see a neutral/negative that stems from packaging I pretty much pass it off.....I have seen the ups videos:D. get some stuff like "guy camped out on my check for two weeks" and you can sell to someone else.

BTW if I see 100 good posts and one bad one, or 5 good ones, I will feel better going with the 100 guy.....as long as I am not the next buyer after the drama.

i sell ALOT of high dollar items on ebay.. im not sure wtf is going on. now a seller cant leave negative feedback for a buyer.. example: i sold a boat a few days ago, the buyer never contacted me, wont respond and wont answer phone calls.. i cant leave him nenegative according to ebay. they are protecting the buyers and not the sellers. kinda stupid if you ask me because the seller is the one that pays ebay... :mad:

basically, makes it easy for some jag off to bid on something and then not go thru with it...

ONT,

Did you recieve any notices of policy changes? How would one go about complaining from a sellers point of view? I'm willing to team up to raise some he11.

On the eBay topic, I've only ever had one bad experience. I purchased a Nascar diecast on a pre-buy. Anyway, time went by and no diecast arrived. I started my chain of e-mails with the seller and he went from telling me it was on its way, to it must have got lost in shipping, to do you want something else. It kept getting nastier. I gave up and contacted PayPal and they instructed me to contact my credit card company that I used thru PayPal. The card company got me to forward all the corespondence I had with this clown, and since I had contact with him in the last 90 days, they refunded my money.

Other than that, nothing but good experiences, buying or selling. I could see how the rating system could be abused though.

Bunch of $hit if you ask me!! Why the H aren't sellers allowed to post negative feedback anymore?? If some jackazz sticks me I want the rest of the ebay community to be aware of it and watch out for him.

Feedback policy

Updated feedback policy

This guy needs to be strung by his balls. Bet if he had someone stiff him for $500 he'd want to spread the word.
