Did BRP finally fix the clutch issue?

No. The only reason you haven't seen as many clutch post as last year is there been no snow. Only have 700 miles on my 09 about 1/2 as much as last year and only a couple of powder days worth talking about. I wanted to keep every thing stock to see what it could do before doing any mods. Finally got some deep stuff today and belt lasted about 15 miles in it. Now if I had 700 mile on a belt in deep powder like last year I wouldn't be complaining. Looks likes another clutch kit for me.:face-icon-small-fro

Sorry to hear that Ray---Powderboy has been hammering his sled all year and is showing like no wear on his belt. It is defenitly better than the 07 and 08 clutching, but still needs some tweaking---did you expect anyless on this issue??

I have been riding since the mid 70's--and have yet to own a sled that did not need some clutch work. Now the smaller sleds needed less--but as HP grew, the clutching became much more improtant--not to build heat in the clutch(wasted power) and to get the clutch to run cool (put HP to the ground).

Get ahold of either Turboal, winterbrew, or Big John. They will get it going right for ya RGM.

Ya I lost a belt at 280 miles. I live b/n 3 dealers and have called all of them to see if they have been tweaking anything in their clutch setups yet. All 3 informed me that I was the first one to complain this year about a bad belt. Now I was not complaining to them or trying to get warranty (knew that wasn't going to happen) just wanted a little advice. They all implied this was an isolated incident from 3 dealerships spread 150 miles apart. Put a new belt on and started shopping for vent kits and clutch kits, see what happens.

Ski-Doo has never had a good out of the box setup so what makes everyone think they are going to start now?? They make one H*LL of a sled but the are clueless when it comes to mountain clutching setup...They are flatlanders that build mountain sleds and clutch them for the flats.
