Diamond S Mesh Hood?

Looked at a Pro mesh hood @ HD's. Seems like a nice piece, 400$ for 7lbs of weight reduction.

I can not seem to find any threads with discussion. My only concern is the cold air intake? Does anyone have pics of it, seem like it work properly? Is there something negative I am missing.

Thanks!!

I tried to search on SW, Bing and Google. I wrench better than I search.

I already run no headlight with a resistor.

Think about, gauge mount or not. I've been told they don't handle roll overs too well. The older ones had problems with snow ingestion so more frogskin type material had to be added to prevent.

The new ones have gauge mount built right in.

The snow ingestion is very concerning. I asked about it and they said it wasn't a problem.

I ran one on my Bd turbo pro for a season and loved it... zero issues and I tend to roll often and never bent or deformed it.

There is a pic on the Doo portion of the air intake for the XM. I emailed them
Asking for a Pro pic. Since they are probably on the way home, I thought this might yield a pic quicker.

Well, to the OP, since you already have the headlight delete, you'll only save about 3 pounds with the mesh hood. If you just skipped donuts for breakfast tomorrow, wouldn't you get the same net result and still have $400 in your pocket?

Sorry, I don't get it. Never experienced a Pro that needed more venting than stock...

I eat a banana or scrambled eggs for breakfast. Have not ate a donut in 10 years. I run 4-6 miles almost every day, plus the time in the gym. Could I shed a few pounds. Sure, but this is about a sled diet, not me diet. The lighter the sled the easier it handles.

The next option would be CF and that will get ridiculous. The added venting is a bonus.

The weight difference between a stock hood gutted and Diamond s hood was just under 3 lbs. I owned one then sold it. The fit is okay there are some gaps, if your running a turbo with a snorkel i would do it, if your running n/a I would not I had my intake freeze up and bog, and it never happend with my stock hood.

Thank you!!!!

Another thing to think about is where your going to hang that headlight delete resistor, the thing gets really hot! You'll lose that open cavity space on the stock hood.

I think AK's post talked me out of it. I have a couple ideas for CIA. but it might not be worth it.

Also had one of the first models. First ride was in blower pow, bet I didnt make it a mile off the trail and my intake was plugged with snow, tons of snow under the hood.
