Diamond Drive repair

My 08 d-drive had brass in the oil when I changed it, so I pulled it apart. Found that the bearings on three planetary gears are hosed. Cat only sells the hole assembly, $300. Is there any way to repair it? If not, I might as well go with a non-reverse model. This is the second one I have had problems with!

Black Diamond Xtreme sells parts for the Diamond Drive, just give them a call. Im not sure who is at the shop, Im sure they are representing at Haydays!

Dont worry about calling bd till monday. Called today and the guy you need to talk to is at haydays. I just had to buy planetary's for my m7, 142 from the dealer but no reverse here.

that darned brass shim seems to be the week point, it goes out and the planetary gears seize and strip the main gear. reminds me i need to get the $300 part for the one i siezed last winter so i have a spare ready to go. wish they would make a rer for the 07-08's. or at least a better diamond drive...

Hmmm, same thing happened to mine only they looked like copper to me. Chewed up a bunch of stuff in there. Got the assembly warrantied just in time. I no longer use reverse unless it's absolutely neccessary. If it goes again i might consider a reverse delete DD from bdx. They definately know they have a problem that's why it's no longer in production. Failed at 2K miles :(

take a punch and the center pin, lightly sand the carbon area on both sides, take a good brass washer from another planetary gearset you have from the past......ive done this before and know a few peolpe who do this, BDX will also tell you to do this....but its a pain to get the pin rollers back in, i back these with grease so they stick to the inside of the gear and then chase this grease later with some carb cleaner
