detonation sensor kicks on lots
im running only 4 lbs now otherwise it detonate
had this kit on a m-8 2008 before it was good
put it on this sled with a speedwerx y-pipe and speedwerx pipe
ive got ebc and egt and o2 sensor, venting
what should be the numbers on the box?

BD had a update on the early ebc kits, its a new wiring harness that pulls power from a different spot. They would draw to much and pull power from the fuel and lean it out. It fixed a few 09's that I know of. What elevation are you running at, you may need some high octane.

At that elevation I would think you could run straight 91 non ethonal (good gas) at 5-6lbs with that kit easy. Call BD and ask them about updates. Some are free some are not. Do you have good venting, I suppose that if you got it the engine compartment real hot it may cause higher charge temps, you should be able to check your charge temps. That or get a hold of MMsports, he knows bd kits.

i sent my ebc out they recalibrated it and its got gel in it they said. ive got the eye pod and side panels from bd for venting. so 6 lbs is the max i can run at 5-7000 ?

It all depends I would say its the max on straight pump gas, if you are running 50/50 then you would go off of the duty cycle on the injectors, in the bd box it will tell you what the duty cycle is. (if you don't know what the duty cycle is its how much the injectors can put out) You can run the D C up to 99% but after that the injectors are basically open all the time and can not get enough fuel and will go lean and burn down. So stay under 99. I think some have run as high as 9-10lbs.

With the deto problem though bd first thought the deto sensor was to sensitive and tried all kinds of stuff and then figured out it was a power issue so you may want to ask them about it.

If your box lights up with a green backlight then you need to update the wiring harness with harness that has a resistor in it from BD. If you have no backlight or a blueish one then it has a different amount of draw and doesn't require the resistor. You should definitely not be detonating at 4 lbs of boost even on straight 91 at 5000 feet. It's an electrical or fuel pump problem. Does your sled totally shut down and throw a det code or just bog really badly then run again?

If anything at 50/50 and 4 lbs of boost you are over octane and unable to burn off the fuel.

it just bogs for a sec then code 23 i turn off start again then its all good my duty cycle is usually at about 50-60 %

Do you have a fuel psi gauge, your reg might be an issue, they attach a line from the charge tube that goes into the fuel tank and hooks on to the fuel pressure regulator and when the sled builds boost it pushes the reg in and adds more fuel pressure. Make sure that line is hooked up and if you don't have a fuel pressure gauge I would install one, its nice to have as a diagnostic tools and you will always know whats going on.

fuel pressure was checked out was all good, they found that there was alot of water in the tank , so they flushed it, then next week end i took it out and it detoed at 5 psi 6000feet took it down to 4 pounds and it seems to run ok but kinda hot ( 1380 )

do you have AF/R gauge? I recommend it.
When i used stock injectors on 5000ft my dc out was 98 at 5.8 psi
on straight pump gas and i don't had detonation. AF/R is 11.8 - 12 at WOT
and my EGT numbers was 1180-1220 after long pull.

Your EGT numbers is very hot. Be careful.

What is your psi high number in your controller setting? 1380 seems way hot to me and more fuel could help. Is it possible you have a leak somewhere and you're sucking air?

A 50/50 fuel combination at that elevation should be fine for that psi......... if your box is tuned for it. From what I understand, you need to run the same fuel combination consistently. If not, you need to be able to tune your box for different mixtures in order to achieve maximum performance.

This is my first season on a turbo, so by no means do I know it all. But I definitely want to learn as much as possible.

@1380 you are way to hot
you said 50-60% on your duty cycle, was that capture at idle?

i would contact snojw if i was you, he can diagnose your bd kit as well as anyone, especially with a kit that is a couple years old, their have been some changes for sure!

i agree!

he should be able to run 5psi on 91 at that elevation with the 09m8

It sounds a lot like the boost line to the fuel reg may be off or have a leak.

Indeed. Same thing happened to me earlier this year. poly line off the IC rubbed up against the pipe, was actually building more boost than was reading on the gage causing me to run hot ... Luckily I caught it and never got over about 1260 for a short period of time, but it isn't something that is "obvious" to see a little hole in a 1/8" poly line :face-icon-small-con

09 TM901

I'm running 42 psi fuel, 7lbs straight 91 pump non ethanol box is at 22-33-55 running1250 WOT on long climb. but seems a little rich under 5000 rpm. better safe than sorry
also D&D 901 big bore

17-30-52 are my numbers
gonna try numbers tomorrow
called speedwerx today substracted fuel at 3000 and 5000
run or die

went to sicamous for 2 days ran at 6-7000 feet cant run it over 3 lbs of boost otherwise i detonate code 23 couple times code 21 i dunno that one i dont get it! anyone any ideasw??
