DET after "the Fix"

When ripping up a face started getting a steady check engine light. Assumed DET pulled EV saw scoring. Only did it on climbs. Ordered the fix. Installed. Fired right up. Cool. Took it out to break in. Now as I get over 6300 it gives a steady flashing light and limp mode.

No other mods. At sea level. Running apr 10 flash that was released in 2011.
 
mine did same thing, i cleaned out my EV's and the small holes behind the bellows we plugged up a bit. After a good cleaning i haven't got it since. I installed a PCV few nights ago and sled sounds so much cleaner definitly the way to go after the fix.
 
Update. Took it over 300 miles to dealer. They cleared DET code and flashed with the latest flash. Put over a mile on it on the shoulder at dealership. Up to 7000 a couple times no codes. Another positive was the mid range stumble was fixed with latest flash.
 
The PCV allows you to + or - fuel in 250RPM increments. Theres a Sticky on top of the IQ forum called Increasing your IQ, definitly worth reading and learning about your sled.
 
Fix story...

Gentlemen, I am still chasing the DET issue after installing the fix...running a PC5 with the 157hp stoughtner map, added 2g more weight, had it reflashed to the latest at the dealer and still cant hold it open without tripping the DET...Shawn at PMS said to send the ECU to him for the 08 flash which he said would cure the DET issue. this is turning into a pain in the A--- anybody found the Fix for the fix yet?
 
i'm running @ 2000' with the fix, PCV with 157map with latest flash w/ wires unplugged. No det after i unplugged my EV behind the bellows. Is your sled going into limp mode or just blink every so often. But running that map it should be plenty rich, i had to cut everything down by half below 6500rpm. Whats you max RPM's, good fuel, changed your fuel filter lately?

I had Shawn send me the part number for the 08 flash, went to allsport and had them pull it up and install it, i think it was like 50 bucks, sled ran very well, no problems.
 
I just had Allsport reflash the latest...Shawn also sent me the part # for the 08 map. Scott in the service said he no longer had accuses to that map due to software update's on his digital wrench. charged $100 for the reflash which didnt help the DET issue
 
Randy i think you have something else going on with your engine, especially since it failed before and had detonation even before the kit was installed. Are you the one from alaska that I spoke with over the phone? if not, then lighter than normal clutching, improper throttle position sensor settings, poor quality fuel, or the above mentioned ev plugged sensor ports, plugged fuel filter, ethanol/premium plug connected all could be causeing the problem just to name a few. call me and we will talk you through any of these situations - thanks. shawn

That would be me. Put about 20 miles on it since they flashed it. Other than sounding weird at mid range (kinda high pitch out of the exhaust it seems) everything is running good.
 
I would try some better fuel and see if that helps.
Put a couple gallons of AV Gas in the tank and see if it helps with the DET.

at least you could eliminate that part of the equation.
 
I have the fix kit, hps can, and 13.6 PA head. I rode it once and if I would hold it at 6300 rpms, it would det. It would hit 8100 but if I held it at 6300 for 2 secs it would det. Tried lucas octane booster and no luck, it still did it. I finally put on my PCV and it runs like a champ. No problem at all.
