Delron washers, should I buy 2 or 4?

So, on the pro, are you suppose to put two washers (one each side of the spring ) on the secondary, and primary? Or just the secondary???

Seeing How they come in a 3-pack Bag.. IDk..

The most i would use is TWO.. the Extra one goes in the TOOL Box!!

And they ONLY go in the the Secondary..

Bottom of Spring... and Bottom or Spring Cup..!!!

3. use all in the secondary. 1 behind the spring cup, 1 in the spring cup, and 1 on the other side of the spring.

Put 2 Delrin washers between the brass cup and the aluminum in the secondary clutch. Keep the third for replacement later if one needs to be replaced. If you put them on the end of the spring they just get tore up, two together provide a smooth surface for easy clutch movement.

Boston is right. When the spring is compressed it expandes. Therefore is tight in the cup and on top. You only need one UNDER the cup.

Some guys close the distance of the set space by adding the washers therefore increasing tension or preloading the spring with force. IE squish it down a bit as a way to fine tune a particular load rate and dial RPM's on a setup

I normally use 3..one between the spring and cup(slight increase on spring pressure), and 2 stacked under the spring cup to stop the binding, they do work and they help with a more consistent up/backshift......

You can buy them thru SLP, WPS is on backorder. Also, I spoke with someone at SLP when I ordered mine. He said you only put 1 washer in the secondary, between the cup and helix... None on either end of the spring. There is so much pressure on the spring ends, that it just chews up the delron washer and doesnt do any good. My question is, does the washer go on top of the circlip that holds the cup down? I havent opened my secondary up yet and trying to visualize all of this...

TC:

The delrin goes underneath the gold/brass colored cup at the bottom of the secondary. The spring lies in the top part of the cup. 1 is all you need. And thanks again for posting the vid. Always good to see how someone else does it.

One is all you need, unless you are in and out of these clutches like a race team mechanic. Remember, you are reducing friction by adding these, friction that builds up from metal against metal contact. Replace this with metal to plastic and you are golden, until the plastic starts to shred. Get it to shred in the right spot, and you lose your secondary function. More of a danger with multiple washers.

Use all three if you go into your clutches alot, but just one if you don't. This has been true on Polaris and Ski-Doo as long as I have known of them. (Delrin Washers)
