Delrin washers 1,2,or 3

I 'm sure this topic has been beat to death and there are probably many opinions, so lets hear them, I've heard only use one under the cup, 2 one on each end of the spring, 3 one on each end of the spring and one under the cup, "they come 3 in a pack for a reason", etc. When I put them in my last sled I used all 3 and it worked good, just bought another sled, and a 3 pack how many should I use?

AJ, I use 3..just my preference.......

I'm a believer in using 3. Like you, I have heard all three arguements as well. # has worked well for me so I am sticking with it.

The more delrins you use the higher the preload of the spring, not sure that I can feel much of a difference in backshift between 1,2 or 3 but I do feel that at least one should be in every sled, it is a noticeable difference and awesome bang for the buck. I am currently running 1 with a spacer under the snap ring to up the preload a wee bit.

I use 1 under the spring retaining cup. I use to run 3 but didnt see were the ones on the ends of the spring were doing anything.

I use 2...both together between the spring cup and the spring. The idea is to allow the spring to be able to rotate as it compresses. The spring, cup or clutch body can dig into the soft Delrin material. So IMO putting 2 washers together provides the least friction and allows the spring to rotate easier...1 washer alone at any location will do very little, you need that plastic on plastic to be effective. JMHO-

I always put the washer under the cup, that way the delrin has even pressure because against the spring where the coil starts you have uneven pressure which will deform the delrin and wear it eneven, or run 3.

SLP's 2010 catalog says to run 1 and one only, under the spring cup.

When I asked Dustin @ SLP about this he said 3 could possibly cause binding.

I could see the possible need for 2

3 doesn't make sense

ok couple dumb questions. Where do i get these and how do i install them.

I got my sled apart and have been told a number of times (thanks Mike :D) that i need these.

i actually used four. two on each side and greased them. don't really think it was necessary b/c on one side (don't remember which) the derlins were snug as they went in so i doubt there is any movement going on, on that side. both sleds have this set up with the only difference between the two is i used grease on one and graphite on the other. both are working fine so far, i'll pull them apart soon an see how they look.
